They should test it on all the patients, not just those who are the sickest. Healthcare workers are using it as a prophylaxis.
I think they will as soon as they know they got enough on hand to go around.
Although they are getting a whole bunch in from Israel and drug manufacturers here. Its going to take a couple weeks. No doubt that is why the set back to the easement of restrictions till end of April?
How would one know if hcq had any effect on someone with mild symptoms? They can get better without any antibiotic or antiviral.

Yes. It seems counter intuitive to say that but it is exactly right. Relatively healthy individuals infected will rapidly improve and will be most able to resist any negative side effects. Stupid to wait until a last resort for an extremely compromised person with advanced stages on ventilators. Those patients will see less improvement and also be too weak to resist the side effects to this drug the worst being arrithma.
That part comes later down the road - kind of like not prescribing an antibiotic for something when Mucinex and other symptom relievers are fine while the body finishes the bug off...while getting rid of the bug faster in the “marginally ill” would be nice, at this time it might also make some feel safer to others than they may actually be and allow them to interact faster...always a set of opposing up-down sides.
