If there is one thing, I hope people understand is the need to be PREPARED. Use preppers were often maligned, even here on FR.
Already having a weapon and plenty of ammo, and not waiting till something like this happens is preferable to HOPING the government will LET you get it then.
The same is true for food, medicines, and even toilet paper!
Meanwhile, I read a report yesterday that the Antifa thugs are busy offering tutorials teaching the best methods of breaking and entering private residences without being caught and arrested or shot by homeowners. Sounds like fake news but I think it is factual.
Will local LEO follow the dictatorial edicts or not. If not, the edicts are toothless.

True that, but I’ve been warning friends and family for decades that the vast majority of cops and soldiers inherently pose an existential threat to their own countrymen by virtue of the fact that they are trained continuously to obey, without question, the orders of their lawful superiors. I know there are many who would vigorously refute that viewpoint, but I contend that history reveals it to be true, as does the reason the Founders felt it wise to ratify the 2nd Amendment.
I got nine. It ain’t a matter of quantity, though. It’s just me and my wife, the kids all have their own, our cats don’t have thumbs, so it’s a matter of adequate ammo.
And those inherently evil ‘high capacity, self-loading, fully semi-automatic gazillion round clips’.
