Ventilator demand is dropping as well. Over the last week articles have been appearing indicating ventilators may actual be harmful for patients. Hopefully Americans sitting at home are connecting the dots and recognizing the media and Democrats are driving hysteria instead of collaborating in a reasoned approach to the “crisis”.
The real test for the United States and its government will be supply chains going forward. Will we get serious about rebuilding the US manufacturing infrastructure or will we continue to be dependent on China for pharmaceuticals, health care supplies, electronics, clothing, and many consumer goods. Corporations must have the incentive to invest in rebuilding American supply chains. This means tariffs, quotas, and tax incentives for investment in US manufacturing. One proposal - lower the corporate tax rate to 10% on profits derived from US manufacturing. Raise the corporate tax rate to 30% for profits derived from sourcing from other countries.

Not every model agrees. To what use will the model be put? It is possible for different models to disagree and both be useful if they have different intended uses. The model for needing ventilators is different than the model for economic recovery, etc.

A leading forecasting model used by the White House to chart the coronavirus pandemic predicted Monday that the United States may need fewer hospital beds, ventilators and other equipment than previously projected and that some states may reach their peak of covid-19 deaths sooner than expected.
That glimmer of potential good news came on the same day New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D) said his state may already be experiencing a “flattening of the curve.” New York reported 599 new deaths Monday, on par with Sunday’s count of 594 and down from 630 on Saturday.

All the haranguing from Birx and Fauci have set up a convenient CYA talking point for them - “see, without social distancing, these numbers would have been through the roof. Aren’t you glad you listened to us”.
Never mind the fact that these models were likely bogus from the get-go and used to justify the real pain on tens of millions being unemployed.

The numbers are lower because we have locked down nursing homes, in WA state alone, we have had a no visitor policy in place for weeks. I also believe older Americans are not going out or visiting loved ones. With the exception of my tough neighbor who stated “If not afraid of this stupid disease, I’ve survived West Nile and several wars”.
HOW DO THEY ACTUALLY KNOW THAT THE STAY HOME WORKS..OR HOW MUCH DID IT SAVE...

I too have seen these attempts at self-redemption and to assuage their own sense of failure and guilt if they have any humility. Reminds me of Winchester on MASH when he nearly killed a patient by grabbing the wrong vial of medicine or another time when he made a mistake in surgery. He was more worried about himself than the patient. Pierce would not give him the satisfaction of even accepting his admission.
And for this hysteria we crashed our economy... the experts and idiot media will say NEVER MIND!
