If there is no large population that has had the virus without symptoms, then the infection rate is very low and not quite as dangerous.
But we're not really talking out NO SYMPTOMS are we? The tests for the virus were only performed on a limited amount of people with a specific group of symptoms AND having traveled abroad. If anyone presented with one or two of the designated symptoms but hadn't traveled abroad, they would not be tested. Once you develop immunity and recover, the virus will no longer be detected. The only way to know if you were infected is to test for the specific antibody to the virus. In other words, testing for the virus itself is a snapshot in time. Testing for antibodies is a retrospective video of the episode.
And I would want to know a LOT more about the false negative rate of the test.
As I've said before, the test has already been approved by the FDA. The testing method is one that has been used for years for detection of other viral antibodies. It can't be any worse than the rushed, cumbersome PCR testing for the virus itself.

Then go sit in your basement with your toilet paper and let the rest of us get back to living. Nobody is forcing you to get tested, but a lot of people are fixing to force a lot of us to get a worthless vaccine that is being rushed into production without the requisite safety testing and double blind studies.

There _was_ a flu-like illness going around here last winter. Yet, this county has 0 *confirmed* cases.
A friend whom I’ve not seen in person for months and DH hasn’t seen in 3 weeks, had *something* last week. Could have been COVID. He’s medically trained as a vet and was a Ranger medic. DH & I have had extremely low-grade symptoms off and on for 3 weeks. Mostly extreme fatigue. I prefer cool temperatures and yet, was always chilled (not shaking chills). No fever, but intermittent *hot flashes* (I’m 77). Some lower GI distress for me, not for my husband. We are rarely ill, so this stood out. IDK. We’re better, now.
Today we had to travel 50 miles to view a property. Stopped in the area grocery store. Saw 2 people with masks. Store relatively busy and well-stocked. Store reeked of alcohol and sanitizer. No one seemed distressed.
Comment from realtor was something I hear a lot:”This is just so crazy.”

It’s just unreal: HCQ is 50+ years old, has a growing weight of anecdotal and clinical evidence, but we can’t use it because there are no double blind studies.
Now, after all the fervor over ventilators, it turns out ventilators may be killing people.
Oh, and add to that that the Chinese (who have little credibility) are now saying that people are NOT exhibiting antibodies and may _not_ have immunity after recovery.
Again....THERE IS NO DATA...NONE...to support this notion.

No. PCR is FAR more selective and sensitive...cumbersome, yes. I have direct experience with PCR and immunoassay tests from developing biowarfare detection technology.
