“A sea change” in attitudes about the coronavirus
NBC News ^ | Apr 19, 2020 | Mark Murray

A new NBC News/WSJ poll also shows how the past month has changed Americans’ attitudes about the coronavirus.

In March, 53 percent of voters said they’re worried that someone in their immediate family would catch the disease. Now it’s 73 percent.

Also in March, a combined 26 percent said the coronavirus has changed their day-to-day life in a “very” or “fairly” major way. Now it’s 77 percent.

If there has been any change in Free Republic attitudes, I sure can't tell it.

It seems like the flubros are winning here.

I keep expecting a change in attitude as the death toll mounts. It's now over 40,000.

But I still see many people assuming vasts amounts of unreported cases so they can assume the case fatality rate down to less than the flu.

I still see comparisons to automobile accidents and other things that are apples and oranges.

And I still see people dismissing the projections of what have would happened if no action was taken, to what did happen with a lockdown. As though the numbers wouldn't have been any worse if the lockdown hadn't happened.

Show me the demographics of the entire pool of the deceased and then I will consider panicking.

You can see why they came with 2.2 million dead Americans if we let ‘er rip through our population.

Fox keeps a rolling coronavirus screen going.

The numbers might be fudged, from what I’m reading, but yesterday there was something in the neighborhood of 40,000 dead. That’s a lot.

The usual fake polls from NBC to push their “shut down the economy and get Trump defeated in November” agenda.
Nothing new here folks. Move right along.

NBC/WSJ polls have been worthless for years

Did they only poll voters or did they just cherry pick the results of voters they talked to? Either way, they let the cat out of the bag. NBC knows the hysteria they are helping to stoke is all about preventing President Dr. Trump from getting re-elected.

That’s not a change in attitude. That’s a change in reality. Prior to March Corona hadn’t had any effect on my life at all. Then the mayor closed the gyms. And the restaurants. And the bars. And my place of business went to voluntary work at home. then the big shutdown hit and work turned off our badges. Now I’ve been 99% at home for 3 weeks. So it has effected me drastically. Mind you I only know 1 person who got it, and it was mild, and they’re over it. But it sure has changed my life.

Some people are no doubt literally panicking, but I don’t think that employing “reasonable” precautions (eye of the beholder, I know) such as distancing and PPE is panicking - especially if it’s being done by vulnerable people. I’d consider it, well, reasonable.

If Trump said Hitler was evil, NBC will manage to manufacturer a poll that said 70% of Americans think Hitler was a great road builder and a loving boyfriend of Eva Braun.
Chuckle.

I keep expecting a change in attitude as the death toll mounts. It's now over 40,000.

Death toll is now over 40,000. Virus death toll is not.

Hospitals are categorizing deaths WITH the virus as deaths BY the virus. Birx even admitted it, saying they were "presumed" to be COVID caused and labeled as such.

That's some sloppy science. Given that there is more money to be made by hospitals if deaths are COVID deaths rather than ordinary deaths, that kind of explains the "skyrocketing" death rate by the virus.

Sorry, I don't believe them.

You use fake polls from our enemies to shame Freepers. NBC is the threat, not the virus.
