Not long after President Donald Trump said Wednesday he disagreed with Gov. Brian Kemp's decision to start reopening Georgia's economy on Friday, Kemp took to Twitter to defend his decision.
"Earlier today, I discussed Georgia's plan to reopen shuttered businesses for limited operations with [President Trump]," Kemp tweeted. "I appreciate his bold leadership and insight during these difficult times and the framework provided by the White House to safely move states forward. "Our next measured step is driven by data and guided by state public health officials. We will continue with this approach to protect the lives and livelihoods of all Georgians." Kemp issued an executive order Monday allowing gyms, fitness centers, bowling alleys, body art studios, barbers, cosmetologists, nail technicians and beauty schools to reopen Friday. Theaters, private social clubs and dine-in restaurants can reopen Monday with some restrictions.

There is zero probability of that happening. Mass lockdowns have never worked anywhere on the planet, least of all in New YorkCity which is the epicenter of coronavirus.
Almost all NewYork coronavirus infections and deaths came AFTER the lockdowns.
The 8 red states that did not have lockdowns also happen to have some of the lowest rates of infections anddeaths.
Here in Connecticut, I had an underground haircut last Saturday.
Read that again:
“underground haircut”
Good for him! Trump is dragging his feet on this. The new crises is the economy and he needs to act as decisively as he did with getting the health care system built up.
The virus is infecting people but most are not dying or going to the hospital. We are now finding out that way more people have been infected then realized before, meaning the death rate is extremely low.
I agree, he is listening too much to his so called health experts and is being sucked into mission creep, fighting the rate of infection instead of the original goal, to prepare our hospital system for the worst case spike, which never came. Now, they projecting doom and gloom in the future to prevent business from expanding and hiring people!
She is practicing for her run as VP with Biden.
If what goes badly? The hospital crises has been dealt with. We now have to deal with the economic crises! These nuts want to take this crises into August! It will never end for these tyrants until the entire economy is destroyed! Trump needs to stop worrying about infections and worry about the health of the economy.
The problem with all of this is that America is getting fed fake corrupt news throughout.

George Orwell was right. Only thing is, he made the date 1984 instead of 2020.
These dictatorial Democratic governors and mayors who are ripping apart the constitution and trampling on everybody’s rights, should be getting what Maximilian Robespierre got.
I’ve been wondering if the HVAC in a place like a restaurant could spread the virus. If so, you could be 20 feet from the nearest patron and still get it if they’re infected, simply by breathing in the recirculated air.
I guess we’re experiencing the same thing now walking through a grocery store. I don’t know if there’s a solution to this problem. Maybe virus catching filters if they have them.
‘I suspect DJT and Kemp have had a few phone calls in which Kemp agreed to take the hit from DJT to allow the President to seem cautious and gain some cred AND put the feces throwing monkeys into stillness.’
sure, sure, keep spinning...
I am with Governor Kemp on this one!
I do not know what President Trump is thinking?
I was a big time, big donor, Cruzer and nothing you or any FReeper said converted me or most Cruzers.
Cruz converted 80% of us, on his own, when he shat on Trump over the Chicago rally.
And now, I am 1000% Trump and he is playing this hand exceptionally well.
He is riding the rails, and as for weak, that is on you.
‘body art studios, barbers, cosmetologists, nail technicians....really ? You are going to hang your hat on tattooist?’
all of the above that you named provide economic value to the local community...you sound like some of the press corps at Trump’s briefing wailing about opening ‘those awful tatto parlors’...
The Washington Post is a total joke.
The only reason why they are still in business is because Amazon bailed them out after the CIA gave Bezos 600 million to buy it.
The Washington Post is extremely discredited. They are left wing hacks pretending to be journalist.
The only time the Washington Post tells the truth is when it gives you sport scores and next day weather.
I’m with ya! There are a helluva lot of people who want to go back to work and even more small business owners and people near retirement who are saying, “I lost my business and my retirement for this?” - and I’m one of them.
Trump and the Corona Virus Task Force gave recommendations on how to mitigate the virus and said next to nothing when governors like Whitmer, Wolf and others went way beyond those guidelines, leaving it up to the governors to determine the best course. This week they gave guidelines for recovery, Kemp is going beyond those guidelines and he’s being crucified, even by Trump. I know some fervent Trump supporters who have no intention of voting at all because of this; and no, I’m not there - yet.
As for a resurgence, of course it’ll happen. It has with all other flu types and it will with the coronavirus. CDC is still tracking H1N1 infections and deaths and started 11 years ago.
If he acts like he is against it..the media will be for it or at least not make a big stink about it?
Yes. President Trump is taking this stance for a reason. I think he’s playing this in a smart way.
‘Trump can say, I wanted to be more cautious.
in other words ‘you guys at the Times and CNN were right; we can’t open up yet, Kemp screwed up...’
