Oh, I didn’t realize it was by World Renowned Architect-Designer Ken Ronchetti. That right there adds $40 million. Not to mention “120 FEET OF BEACH!” If only.

Me either. I’d have “my people” arrange rentals.

In looking at the property picture, I noticed how tightly packed these homes are. I wondered how far people in the second row have to walk to find a path to the beach. They aren’t squeezing by Bill’s place.

He’s probably thinking of the money he’s gonna make on the govt contract to supply bio-chips for all US citizens.

“Did he buy the entire block?”

Looks like it comes with the house across the street, for staff and security.

With his mega yacht, he could come and go at night from the beach, on a small launch.

Gates knows that unless he parrots the liberal line, that he will never be able to live in peace with his billions.

From inside, yuo don't see (and probably can't hear) any neighbors, or passersby on the beach. It is elevated and walled off. Seven car garage. Nice sunsets, with San Diego weather.

Hope he’s not offended by the stars and stripes a couple houses south. :-)

He paid $43 million for THAT????

Really. It looks like the old beachfront motels that were in Destin, before the condo builders replaced every last one of them with high-rises.

It must have one heck of survival bunker downstairs.

My thoughts too. The structure itself is probably a million or better in construction material value. But the location is like living in a sardine can, all bunched up with your neighbors.

I expected to see at least 5 acres with at least a couple hundred feet of ocean front.

Those Conex containers are expensive. And then you have to place them JUST RIGHT.

He didn’t demand anyone use his products it was just that he had the best stuff at the best price at the time

Seriously, Apple could have owned the market if they would have released their first Mac computer at $500, that was the initial target but Jobs thought it was way too cheap and placed it at $2500

At $500 it would have blown every PC at the time away, at $2500 it was just an expensive toy for fan boys

Now days it just doesn’t matter, Windows won the world, Bill Gates was smarter then Jobs.

From the Wall Street Journal...

The original house was built with oil money!

“The luxurious six-bedroom, four-bathroom, 5,800-square-foot home was sold to the Gates family by Madeleine Pickens, a former wife of the billionaire oil baron T. Boone Pickens.”

He didn’t have to demand it. Most public entities like school systems, government offices and big businesses used it because it made their jobs so much easier. If the government would have asked for bids on computer op systems we would probably have had a much better and secure system.
