Bread??? Who's going to be making bread?

I will! Off the extra acreage I will have bought with the money, and am now planting on. of course, that won’t be for sale, but just one more step in disconnecting from the machine.

I saw this clown on Varney yesterday. Varney asked him how we would pay for this and he said he didn’t know just yet but we’d figure it out somehow.

Actually if they gave 1500 a month to all welfare recipients but drop every other program. We’d actually save money. A lot of money.

On the other hand, it would save companies money by not having to have brick and mortar businesses. And I really hope it exploded in the college area. High school homeschooling would be good too.

How often is any gov handout program ended? Or any gov department ended and disbanded?

Those are fiefdoms, with a great many having positions and jobs in running them. They are never given up.

“The Democratic cancer continues to grow and consume this Republic.”

It’s progressive cancer.

D’rats are useful tools of the progressives (leftists, neoliberals, socialists, communists). So are women, young people, blacks, pubic school teachers and college prof’s.

Married couples, he writes, “can earn up to $260,000 per year and receive $4,000 per month,” along with an additional $500 a month for up to three children, capped at a whopping $5,500 per month for a family of five.

why work?

“Can we call it “welfare for all”???”

Might be a moneysaving idea if done properly:

Give the basic income and take away all of the other programs for the poor. Requirement: after plugging in all of the numbers, federal expenditures on the poor must go down.

The Democrats want to make being a welfare case the norm for American citizens other than the ruling class, though may some sort of job paying less than a living wage.

Farm work will be done by illegal alien peons on farms owned by big corporations. Industrial work will be done in other countries. White collar work by H1B indentured servants.

The only native middle class will be government workers of various kinds including law enforcement and the military.

> A sort of Fascism though it will be called Democracy.

The people proposing this type of thing need to be asked questions like that. Not just a single question, a series of specific questions. I would also make them produce the data and flow charts to back it up. Then I would have a expert team of real finance guy go through it with a fine toothed comb. None of there plans will withstand any real scrutiny. Once it falls apart, then I would have the attack dogs ready to go in and completely rip the idea apart in ways that even low info voters could understand.

The left keeps getting away with this nonsense because there isn’t strong enough push back from those that represent us. Except for a few, they crumble at the first sign of resistance from the left.

Universal basic income means no unemployment money. It means no Social Security check, or SSI/SDI/VA benefits.

It means all the money you hope to retire with, somebody else gets, period.

I think they are striving for a Universal Basic Economy: government owns the means of production and all citizens become government employees. The lockdowns have gotten them halfway there, and they will scream loudly before retreating an inch.

“ Can we call it “welfare for all”???”

Great term. That’s exactly it: replace the welfare system with everyone given, just for breathing, a poverty line income with no certification of need.

If we’re going to have a massive welfare state, UBI/WFA is the best way, eliminating complex bureaucracies. And it takes us to the sheer absurdity of it all, the point where I’ll start pulling out of taxable economy.

They are going to use the covid crisis to argue for the government paying everyone. A sure recipe for runaway inflation.
