Darlington Raceway to Host Two Races in May, Report Says

Darlington Raceway will be a busy place next month. The South Carolina racetrack will host two NASCAR races in May, according to a report Tuesday by AutoWeek, The publication obtained a revised race schedule that was sent to teams.

S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster, asked about the topic during a news conference Tuesday, would not confirm the races are happening, only saying NASCAR would make that decision.

“That would be wonderful,” McMaster said. “Those kind of decisions are being made all around the country.”

An official announcement is expected from NASCAR this week, according to the Autoweek report.

Looks like plans are to race at Darlington on Sunday, May 17th and again Wednesday, May 20th. Interesting Sunday and Wednesday weekly race schedule to follow that. Bring it on!

Just a sidebar here. While going through the emotions I ran across this. While “White” Fist has several other “colors” for optional use 👊 the “Black power” Fist only has this “color”✊🏾available. I also noticed that the Santa was optional “degrees of color”.

Now just how much of this crap does one have to put up with these days ?

Personally I could care less what color Someone is: pink, black, yellow, red, white, orange or green doesn’t matter to Me. What does matter to Me is what that person does and acts like towards others, are they nice or mean, helpful or useless, care about others no matter what “color” they are.

Wife and I splurged 2 years ago and popped on over for the Cup Race just to get away from the SOS for a Date Night (We’re only a couple of hours or so away). So We loaded up My new Power Chair to test & break it in vs trying to drive it around inside the house. Sure beats all that walking ! And faster too !!

You could “feel” the History of the whole place right down to the Minnow Pond discussion back in the day.
