“How do you plan to make criminals obey these new laws when they didn’t obey the current laws?”
Must be a lot of mass-shootings in Canada by people using assault weapons. That would be the only reason that justifies Trudeau banning those weapons.
Or, is Trudeau using the single mass-shooting to justify him doing what he wanted to do in the first place? Take a single-event crisis and use it to justify the action. Just like democrats in the U.S. want to use ANY use of a gun in a murder to ban them.
Because who cares about being able to defend yourself.
Using his logic, maybe he will shut the US-Canadian border permanently.
AND...the very small number of gun owners that registered their guns with Canada during the recent “Long Gun Registry” debacle...can kiss their weapons goodbye.
22 deaths is not the REASON Trudeau wants to ban “assault guns,”. It is his EXCUSE to do it. He must have been torn upon hearing the news of the shooting - part weepy and part cheery.

Trudeau is too liberal to know that a wood-stock Remingtom .223 hunting rifle is equal to the AR-15. Same bullet, 10 or more round magazine. So, ban the “mean-looking assault-style” AR-15 because it looks threatening. Makes no sense but, then, overreacting liberals never do.
As there is no gun registry in Canada you can be assured they will be recovering very few of the guns that are in the general population.
Take notes and be ready. Also this should plus up the available firearms in the USA and drive down prices temporarily.

WE in the US went through this nonsense back in 1968 when Dems banned the import of 5-shot bolt action army surplus rifles because they were “Military”. The same rifle off the same assembly line with the same markings but issued to a “Police Force” were legal to import.
This nonsense finally stopped back in 1984 and the army surplus rifles were again legal to import.
But in 1984, the Dems had a new target, Rifles!
Something the anti-gun people said they would NEVER legislate against. Then they made a grab for them.
If they ever get an AW ban to stick in the US, rest assured they will be back for their original target from 1962-1984, HANDGUNS!
