I have been to Taiwan several times in all seasons. It is typically tolerable but not like the Caribbean. Of course you have to get past the smell which is overwhelming. h

Dumbasses do not know how to perform simple hygiene or have lived in a bubble, not exposed to germs and viruses. I am going to go with the first

They don’t wear masks. You need tight borders and mask wearing at the time of the outbreak. The other think is early contact tracing, UK didn’t do that.

We will also need to consider each country’s method of death determination. The actual CoV deaths will not be as important as the additional deaths compared with past years.

But metabolic condition is the one everyone can change, right now, if not for this one for the next virus or just for your own health.

Yep

Yep. Outside of nursing homes, prisons, etc, it really boils down to places with higher population density, more mass transit, more ports of travel, etc having more cases.

I expect “Mass Transit” to be the real predictor.

Same thing with Vietnam.
They have required everyone (everyone) to wear a facemask for almost three entire months. Everyone has in fact, been wearing a mask here, for four or five months.
Thus far, no fatalities.

And of course Birx and Co. were telling us that face masks were for the healthcare workers only and that maintaining 6 feet of distance was all that you needed. You can do that in NY City if you don’t take the elevator, the escalator, the bus, the rail road, the taxi or the subway and did I mention the side walk? Why do you think the death toll is so high in the city? Did I mention little diners and restaurants?

DIMOCRAT RUN AND HELD CITIES!!! The small county next to ours has had EIGHTEEN total cases of the virus. Only SIX are currently active. Their city and county folks just said to the governor, we are going to open up, this is stupid. So, they are planning to tell ALL their businesses to OPEN UP AND GET ON WITH IT!!! Sounds danged good to me. This PLANNED-DEMIC has GOT TO END!!! Come on President Trump, get your dander up and put this country back to work, open it up and to hell with these leftist cows!!!

All important factors that for some reason are ignored.

Even on this forum it’s like a tale of two cities. Either it’s going to kill us all or it’s no worse than the flu. Even when the truth is almost always something in the middle, lots of people just can’t wrap their minds around it.

Agreed. I have to say, the journalists have done a horrible job of making accurate data available.

But then, they are journalists because they couldn’t pass statistics or 5th grade math

Taiwan lucked out because of CCP stupidity. A lot of Taiwanese have been encouraging the Hong Kong protests, and the Independence Party has been growing, CCP tried to punish them by clamping down on travel btwn China and Taiwan, which means it was hard for the virus to spread to Taiwan.

Righteous Backfire!

So Taiwan had no 6 foot (2 meter) rule at all? Where else did they NOT do a distance rule? Want to know bc I don't feel too convinced about it.

I don't know the answer to that. The English language version of their guidelines only recommends 1 meter (about 3 feet) separation from sick people. But it may not be up to date, or represent other guidelines.

TheCipher can probably answer your question.

It is a one meter suggestion, not a rule. It is really just for standing in lines. In the grocery stores at the checkout, they have taped lines to stand behind on the floors.

Now for events like baseball games, those were banned ( the games still went on, but there were no fans in the stands - they actually put cut-outs in some of the seats). Starting next week, fans will be allowed, but will have to sit a few seats apart.
