...At Arc Digital, Esther OReilly asks, Why should we assume that a crashing economy would leave the healthcare system standing? Fleshing out the matter, she writes, You cant keep the hospital lights on without keeping on the lights of the economic sectors undergirding it. Yes, our doctors and nurses are running out of masks and gloves, which is a serious problem. It would also be a serious problem if we lost the means and the manpower to make more, or if the hospitals ran out of cash on hand to buy more beds, ventilators, etc. And theres the rub. We are being told we cant fight the virus without pausing the economy, yet we cant fight the virus without the economy....

Such a simple truth.
Every little bit of prevention helps, and those who refuse to participate are not only enabling disease and even death but also forcing others to bear the burden of protection for them.
The Aussie economy hasn’t crashed anywhere near like the US in general an PA in particular.
There are many causes of death other than COVID 19 (not that any of us would know that, because a great miracle has happened and no death certificates list heart attack, diabetic complications, asthma, etc...just COVID, COVID, COVID) like suicide, domestic abuse homicide, alcholism...all rising geometrically not because of the WU-FLU but because of Democrap tyrants like the PA Governor and his mentally ill transgendered “health secretary” who insist on locking down the entire state over a Delaware River basin problem.
You may go hibernate yourself until kingdom come.
Good for you.
Don’t expect anyone to keep sustaining your existence-style (can’t call it a “LIFE-style) until there is 100% erradication and/or a 100% “safe” vaccine that meets your impossible standards.
You don't know the half of it:
“Masks are for Muslim women...I am neither”
At least one vaccine is on its way, and it is being done in Pennsylvania. The company hopes to have it tested and ready by January.
They are gearing up bigtime. Just outfitted a whole new lab.
How do I know? My son is a research chemist who works there
All is not gloom and doom.
The virus only infects interior welcome centers and bathroom with regular toilets, hot and cold running water, regular hand soap and proper ventilation, I thought everyone knew that. /s
In CT museums and zoos may open outdoor attractions on May 20, but inside must stay closed, too dangerous, except for interior bathrooms or ticket windows, those are safe.
No doubt.
A year from now COVID will be part of the annual flu shot.
But we CANNOT lockdown the healthy until then.
If the FEARpers want to hibernate themselves, have at.
Just don’t expect the rest of us to support such existence much longer.
IOW, if you have the means to support your self-hibernation, please do so and do the rest of us a favor.
Watch the mask wearers, they will touch the reused mask to put it on, then adjust it, touch it when you take it off and stuff it in a purse, toss it in a car seat, etc. and not wash their hands. Congrats, you just contaminated anything in your purse, car, etc. and breathed all that in without a mask driving home. Good job.
You are so right, the virus has been around for months and no one wore a mask because we were told they were ineffective, and only N95s might help, but not to wear them save em for health care. Now every Karen can make masks at home out of a piece of cloth and they are suddenly life savers.
Freedom once lost, is never regained in the same generation.
Alien crash, from what source (movie)?
Ditto! Christian Bump!
John Carpenter’s THE THING (1982).
OK. I did not recognize it.
Thanks.
The guy that cleans the portapotty obviously isnt as special as the state workers...
I saw a guy in the store wearing a shirt that said something like “Proud member of the anti-social club.”
I’ve seen some others as well but can’t recall them. They were well-worn so not specific to Covid-19, but obviously a good opportunity to pull them out of the closet.
Expendable crewmen.
