If you test positive you have a 99% chance of surviving. Only a slightly less % chance of even showing symptoms.

Where do you get that "information"? Don't go making claims like that unless you can back it up with actual data.

I use real case data. Not speculation. According to real worldwide case data as of this morning:

4197142 cases
286669 deaths

Now I apply grade school math:

286669/4197142 x 100 = 6.830 % death rate.

In the US, there are 1347936 cases with 80684 deaths, for a 5.986% death rate. This death rate has been steadily climbing.

This is not speculation. This is not based on evidence-free models. This is not based on questionable antibody tests that apparently are good at finding people who have had ordinary colds. This is the real case data, as compiled by the Johns Hopkins university.

Hopefully you’re kidding. If Testing positive means you’re free to resume your life and testing negative means not yet there is something that is very worrisome about it. For one, it means everyone MUST be tested. That is one right taken away right off the bad. Horrible idea. This should be shredded, then burned, then thrown into an active volcano.

No, I am not kidding. The bill apparently embodies into law the established principles of epidemiology that have been used to contain outbreaks for decades (centuries?). This means contact tracing and testing of people who are likely to have been exposed. Those who test positive are quarantined. This is how infectious disease responses have been done for eons. Why do you have a problem with using the tools of epidemiology to both control the pandemic and allow people to get back to relatively normal lives?

I'm with you...Good Lord. I've been watching some of the Senate hearing this morning. Absolutely chilling. From the Chairman, Lamar Alexander: "We need to be prepared for the NEXT pandemic, which is absolutely coming."

We have been preparing for pandemics for years. We study the history of past pandemics, the way various governments throughout history have handled pandemics, the dynamics of disease transmission, etc. Pandemics have affected human societies throughout history, and it is unlikely that we will ever be free of them. So yes, we need to be prepared for the next one and no, pointing that out is not chilling.

Freedom. Contact tracing enshrined into law. No thank you. I’ll take my chances being free.

6666 Interesting number...
Where have we seen some similar number before?

Never let a crisis go to waste.
Imagine the cadres salivating at the thought that
in this crisis they can get the people themselves
to finance organs of internal security.
I saw a figure of 500 billion dollars buried in
the trillions proposed.
Once instituted these organs only grow and they
are self replicating for their own survival.
What fools they take us for...and certainly
there are fools who will not see it coming.

Why do you have a problem with using the tools of epidemiology to both control the pandemic and allow people to get back to relatively normal lives?

The problem comes when unscrupulous elements use epidemiology
to control the populace and condition them to the loss
of their rights. I only scanned the bill but is there
any kind of sunset clause in it or is it for the duration?

How easy for those elements to continually release agents
to create a series of crises, tightening their grip with
each iteration.

The three sixes probably referred to something at the time Revelation was written. But I am in the camp that it was both about current issues, soon-to-happen future issues, and far-off issues up to and including end time stuff.

One thought is that the reference to 666 is that it is trying to mimic the number 7 - which is a pure holy number or something signifying God. So it might look good, people think it is good, but it is a false good/God. So in that regard - 6666 = 666. In fact - it is trying even harder to be a 7.

I do not have a problem with using the tools of epidemiology to allow people to get back to relatively normal lives. That is actually what this bill is about, which is why I am so puzzled over the strong negative reactions to it.

Various posters on FR: Why does EVERYONE have to be quarantined? Why not just the sick people?

HR Bill: Specifies that contact tracing and testing will be used to identify infected persons, and place them in quarantine.

Various posters on FR: OMG, this bill is tyranny! I'm not going to cooperate, no one is going to test ME!

There is no consistency here.
