Michigan Sheriff Delivers Whitmer Another Blow “I Won’t Enforce Stay Home Orders”

Governor Whitmer is losing her tyrannical death-grip on the state of Michigan

Is Governor Whitmer’s reign of terror coming to an end? It seems that way.

She failed to stop a 77-year-old barber from opening up his shop in a bid to save his livelihood and family.

The county sheriff announced that he would not use his manpower to shut down the business.

Later, a judge also ruled in the barber’s favor.

Now, that very same sheriff has just announced that he will not enforce Whitmer’s “lockdown orders” that have been extended until the end of May.

From The Hill:

Shiawassee County Sheriff Brian BeGole said in a written statement that he decided to share his office’s position on the governor’s executive orders after receiving “many calls” from local residents and businesses on the matter and “especially since the Michigan Legislature did not extend the state of emergency beyond April 30 as required by law.”

“The legality of that is a judicial branch determination,” BeGole said, noting his office’s “responsibility to serve and protect the citizens of Shiawassee County and to ensure their rights as described in both state and federal Constitution.”

A friend of mine had a conversation with our Sheriff. In the entire county since lockdown began, they have issued exactly one citation for breaking the stay at home order.

It was added on top of the burglary charge.

He just earned my vote again just for that.

Excellent Sheriff.

One of the things that impresses me is that they don’t seem to be over impressed with paramilitary. There’s certainly a place for that.

A while back he mentioned that they have two surplus Government Humvees.

Most department would trick them out for the SWAT team. He reserves them for search and rescue.

His predecessor was fixated on having a helicopter and manager to buy one. It was rarely used. As soon as the new guy assumed office, away went the helicopter.

The State Police has a very strong aviation program and is readily available if needed.

Does Michigan have recall elections?

The citizens of Michigan are granted the authority to perform a recall election by Section 8 of Article II of the Michigan Constitution. Recall is a process whereby voters can remove an elected official from office prior to the end of his or her term by a special election.

ALL elected officials in the state are subject to recall except judges of courts of record. This right of recall was created in 1908. Michigan and Oregon, which also created the right of recall in 1908, were the first two states to adopt statewide recall procedures.

Michigan is one of nine states with provisions that say that the right of recall extends to recalling members of its federal congressional delegation, but it has not been clear whether federal courts would allow states to actually recall their federal politicians.[1]

Michigan politicians who are otherwise subject to recall cannot be recalled in the first six months or the last six months of their current term in office.[2]

Actually, it is clear that courts will not allow recall of federal officials.
