Barber who has kept shop open, defying state shutdown order, gets license suspended

Licenses should demonstrate some minimal level of required proficiency, and beyond that they should have no further influence from the state.

The state is clearly trying to use them as a whip to enforce their will on the people, and they should not be used in this fashion.

Ain’t nothing like a bunch of ribbon-cutting elitists getting together to dominate and force hard working people to submit to their ‘authority’.

This country needs to start pushing back.

My barber is also a fellow motorcyclist. I wonder if he could legally find a solution to my helmet being too tight.

My mom was a beautician years ago in Missouri. She had to earn her license with the state. Since cuts, perms, manicures, and all were part of the curriculum, her studies at beauty college and her tests were intense. I was in the 7th or 8th grade. I had to help her study for the tests. I learned how many bones are in the human hand and how many in the face and feet. As an aside she cut me and my sisters hair for years she’s 87 and still does sis’ hair. I kicked ass in biology my sophomore year. :)

The barber should 1) get an imam to declare his shop and haircuts are halal and 2) offer 3 free haircuts a month for GLBTQXYZ activists

He should have opened a “black market” shop in his home or elsewhere that are popping up everywhere. My wife just went to her favorite hair dresser in her home with all the protections for both. Come get her Newsome - just try to arrest my wife. F##ing try it.

The feds are quick to jump when it involves White on Black Civil Rights Violations so ... Why don't they involve themselves when it involves ... Everyone's Civil Rights?

I don't understand why the feds don't put an end to the trampling of the peoples constitutional rights!?

Regardless of what or how individual state constitutions are written .. States are subject to the U.S. Constitution, same as the feds!

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States.

This greatly expanded the civil and legal rights of all American citizens by protecting them from infringement by the states as well as by the federal government.

The third clause, "nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law," expanded the due process clause of the Fifth Amendment to apply to the states as well as the federal government.

Over time, the Supreme Court has interpreted this clause to guarantee a wide array of rights against infringement by the states, including those enumerated in the Bill of Rights (freedom of speech, free exercise of religion, right to bear arms, etc.) as well as the right to privacy and other fundamental rights not mentioned elsewhere in the Constitution.

In Marbury v. Madison (1803) the Supreme Court announced for the first time the principle that a court may declare an act of Congress void if it is inconsistent with the Constitution.

Everything that these dictators are doing is unconstitutional .. regardless of any State or added on Amendment laws!

As a citizen, not owned or working for the state and who's God Given Rights were affirmed by the Highest court in the land, I have the Right ... the duty, not to obey any unlawful order, just because some 'appointed' entity has deemed it a law!

My wife's hair cutter made a house call to us. Set up on the back porch, in the sunlight and fresh air.

That’s why barber poles have red stripes, show the blood for bloodletting and surgery flowing downward. Except if they still have those revolving ones they revolve so the red stripes go upward (not as graphic that way). Maybe everyone knows this.

My wife has been cutting my hair for the past ten years.

Fortunately I like short hair so there in nothing to mess up.
