In April something was bugging me a familiarity amid the COVID lock-down status & another time I couldnt quite put my finger on it until a dear friend reminded me.
Many U.S. states are acting like the early 1980s and the imposition of Martial law in Poland to target the Solidarity movement. Subsequently I wrote about it on a Twitter thread, because the parallels were really quite remarkable.
Both Poland circa 1980 and the U.S. friction in 2020, center around fragile economic issues. Both were an outcome of state control; and the key connection is government targeting control over the workers.
In both examples the state took exclusive control of the economic and social state of the citizens, and the courts provided no option for redress. In both examples the state locked down the citizens and would not permit them to interact with each other.
In 1981 the government in Poland initiated Martial Law and citizens were forced to communicate underground. In 2020 a considerable number of U.S. state governments locked-down citizens in similar fashion and banned citizen assembly.
In 1981 in Poland the communist regime used economic psychological pressure, selecting workers permitted to earn wages. Those workers identified as essential to the state. In 2020 many State governors selected workers to earn an income by designating them essential to the state.
In 1981 in Poland; communication amid the Solidarity Movement was forced underground. In 2020 many oppressive State governors demanded social media remove public content adverse to the interests of the Stay-at-Home confinement orders. Big Tech complied with the authoritarian dictate.

Poland: we take to the streets and today we realize, there are more of us than them
Are We there yet? The #ComDem Mayors and Governors think we are. Do we "get it"?

I agree with the sentiment and the actions; but I’m not so sure about the numbers. There are a LOT of THEM. At least 50%.
Ay, there’s the rub.
In the beginning in the USA, it was never a majority supporting freedom.
The constitution exists, in spite of much encroachment. It is the bloodless approach. Can it be done. It MUST BE.
Lots of guns and ammo....
My generation has been voting correctly because our heads were conditioned differently.
This, by pure co-winky-dink of course, are the exact areas where the sheriffs told her to take a hike.
Their crimes are truly serious.
oh, I’m all in. I’m just not that optimistic about success.
Are we heading to the Alamo?
Maybe.
But, after the Alamo (and let’s not forget Goliad) came San Jacinto.
She might as well do so, they are doing it with or without her.
They prefer without her. The “Gretchen” has fully exposed herself. And her ComDem proxies.
CW11 anyone? The difference is “our” 50% have the guns.

All their side have are the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard
Consent of the governed may be unilaterally revoked.
bttt
Yes, I celebrate April 21st every year.
I Remember the Alamo, but Celebrate San Jacinto Day. The day that the Dictator got caught with his pants down and was defeated.
for what it’s worth.....
I feel like we should also celebrate (in addition to San Jacinto) Cinco de Mayo and Juneteenth. All (Texas) landmarks in the history of freedom.
But the larger point being this: if we are going to rise to the occasion here, generationally, we need to start remembering that we are part of a rich past, and we are entrusted with preparing for a future that is yet to be. A rekindling of history and civic virtue and ceremony is essential.
And then we have to fight like hell.
And lots of foreign governments who would be more than willing to help.
The Truth is our best weapon by far.
Totally agree.
Those who seek to divide and destroy Texas and the United States MUST be exposed and punished.
This must end NOW!

Yes, in the Revolutionary War I believe the mix was pro-king, pro-independence, and indifferent in roughly equal percentages.
In today’s version of what was once America there seems to be more interest in free stuff than freedom.
Neither the US or the Texas constitution says it is OK to ignore the Constitution, or that voter’s acceptance of such changes without due process makes it legal.
Both documents limit the power of government, they do not grant rights from the state.
