One could argue the philosophical division in American thought has always existed but has been exacerbated recently by technology.
Some months ago I sat in on a presentation by an HR consultant at a business owners’ meeting. He made the astute point that American Party divisions are decades out of date — and really haven’t made sense since the end of our post-WW2 Industrial Age in the 1970s.
