But other doctors point to the fact that it’s been in use for decades to treat malaria, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, and is a “very, very safe drug.”

As a dermatologist, I used plaquenil for 30 years to treat many patients with discoid lupus, without any problems.

RE: From the article...

RESULTS:

HCQ group: 0 deaths
Non-HCQ group: 9 deaths

_____________________________________

VERY VAGUE REPORT.

1) Deaths from what? The report did not say. Were all these “deaths” a result of Covid-19?

2) It also said that some of those who took HCQ contracted Covid-19 with “mild attack” <-— what does it even mean? This simply tells us that the protective ability of HCQ against Covid-19 is not 100%.

3) The report did not mention HOW MANY WERE INFECTED in the group NOT taking HCQ vs. those taking it.

This is really a useless report.

Hydroxychloroquine is NOT cyanide, no matter how it is pictured by the likes of Joy Behar, who has equated its use with the vast overdose that was self-prescribed by the Phoenix couple, of chemical commonly used to clean fish tanks.

Shortly after ingestion, the couple fell ill, said Arizona-based hospital system Banner Health.

The couple were both in their 60s.

The woman told NBC News she had seen a televised briefing in which Mr Trump discussed the potential benefits of chloroquine as a treatment COVID-19.

The drug has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treating malaria, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis but is unproven for use against the novel coronavirus.

“We saw his press conference. It was on a lot, actually,” she said. “Trump kept saying it was basically pretty much a cure.”

“We were afraid of getting sick,” she told NBC.

Yeah, right.

I think she was trying to kill her husband. By appearing to also be a victim, this threw blame off herself.

You didn’t prescribe it to overweight patients, did you? According to Nancy there’s a problem with overweight people taking the drug, although I could find no basis for that claim anywhere.
