Michael Moore-Produced ‘Planet of the Humans’ Doc Pulled From YouTube, Director Cries ‘Censorship’

The Michael Moore-produced documentary “Planet of the Humans” was pulled from YouTube overnight due to a “copyright claim by a third party” — prompting writer-director Jeff Gibbs to denounced the removal as a “blatant act of censorship.”

“It is a misuse of copyright law to shutdown a film that has opened a serious conversation about how parts of the environmental movement have gotten into bed with Wall Street and so-called ‘green capitalists,'” Gibbs said in a statement Monday. “There is absolutely no copyright violation in my film. This is just another attempt by the film’s opponents to subvert the right to free speech.”

The documentary, which has drawn criticism from environmental groups for its harsh assessment of the efficacy of solar and wind energy, has garnered 8.3 million views since its release on YouTube on April 21, according to the film’s rep, who added that the filmmakers have been in contact with the Google-owned video service over the issue.

I’m surprised it stayed up this long.

I watched it. Any conservative viewing this has to come away with thinking a) the “sustainable” alternate energy businesses are a scam and b) envirogroups have become “mainstream” as businesses fall all over themselves jumping on the “green” bandwagon, thereby diluting the message so that they, themselves, are no longer targets for criticism from envirogroups.

But, yeah, YouTube is into censorship big time right now as any conservative can tell you. Listening to a lefty whine about it is a little funny though. Welcome to our world, Mr. Gibbs.

initially, there were demands from the climate alarmists to pull the documentary, but it was claimed by someone - eithr from Moore’s production company or the director or whoever, I can’t recall, and can’t be bothered checking - that pulling it might draw more attention to it.

it is good in that it exposes the climate industry and their scams, but it’s also about population control.

I was just watching Canadian Bacon today. Moore was the director and Candy was an actor.

You gotta admit though that there were some hilarious scenes in Roger and Me, like the makeup and color expert confessing to an error in her color diagnosis, and the woman slaughtering a rabbit in her backyard while looking over her shoulder to see if code enforcement was lurking about. And Roger Smith was in fact a dismal Chairman of GM.

Censorship is BS. But it’s good to raise awareness... lol.

That first has been extremely obvious since the multiple scams under Obama, with Solyndra being the flagship example. They filed for bankruptcy 9/1/2011.

But really, this was all obvious even before then to anyone with a thermodynamics background.

I guess that you mean GM’s Saturn line. It had encouraging if modest success for a while, but the technology became dated and the Jap car onslaught was too much to combat without major retooling, so they closed it down. Also, GM’s unions hated it because it was nonunion.

Indeed! I had previously believed that Moore directed only documentaries! This was a revelation to me!

I’d empathize except I’m certain Moore has wholeheartedly supported them doing this to Conservatives for years.

Is there any record of his pronouncements on social media censorship before his own ox got gored?

Hilarious.

Leftist cannibalism. Oh the joys...

Yes, that is precisely the correct image. The climate change true believers operate on a "Lord of the Flies" level, and Moore just got cast in the role of Piggy.

I'd like to think that Lumpy might come away from this experience a bit wiser. However...
