“Its NEV3R the PC crowds fault !”
indeed ... it was CLEARLY the audience’s fault that they didn’t want to pay to see a REALLY crappy movie ...
“Exactly. Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd and the third guy, can remember his name. Plus wasnt Harold Ramis involved too?”
Lot of great talent in that movie.
Bill Murray
Dan Akroyd
Harold Ramis
Ernie Hudson (fourth ghostbuster)
Sigourney Weaver (Murray’s love interest)
Annie Potts (dippy/trippy secretary)
Rick Moranis
William Atherton (officious bureaucrat who shut down the containment field)
David Margulies (mayor)
And can you name the porn star who appeared in the movie?
“The popularity of ghostbusters was mostly because it had at least three of the best sketch comedians/writers of the last generation.”
indeed ... a brilliantly written, acted and produced comedic feature made by tremendously talented comedic writers and actors ... plus it had only a single purpose: to entertain and make people laugh, unlike the politically correct pile of shite reboot ...
It was hindered by being a really crappy remake of a movie that needed no remake.
“The popularity of ghostbusters was mostly because it had at least three of the best sketch comedians/writers of the last generation.”
and i might add, switching genders and colors of the principal characters is nothing but a cheap gimmick anyway, and almost guarantees that there’s nothing else of substance in the production except for the cheap gimmick ...
and besides, how many millions have exclaimed, “Oh, boy! I can’t wait to see this new movie because they changed the genders and colors of the characters!”
LET IT GO...The script stunk, the stars stunk and their PR work was no prize..... MOVE ON,PAUL.....
The $133 million is the production cost and the $220 million is gross box office receipts. In between are a whole lot of people and companies that want to get paid, from distributors and marketing costs to theaters. The general rule of thumb is that a movie has to gross at least 2X production costs before it breaks even.
“People say Im a lousy director who made a bad movie and lost a lot of money, but Im really a heroic warrior for the holy leftist cause! Heck, Im a martyr!”
there was a black female director recently because she was the first black female director to lose as much money as she did because the movie she made was so awful (Ava DuVernay’s “A Wrinkle In Time”)
Bad movie. If his theory had any value then the female Oceans movie with Bullock would have cratered also. It ended up doing okay, of course not as well as hoped.
The problem is it wasn’t a reboot of Ghostbusters it was a bad reboot of Ghostbusters 2.
Stop trying to wake us, we are woke and these wakers are nuts
I think thats the general rule of thumb (and - dirty secret of Hollywood) so they can write off loses, and short actors from profits. If this is the buisness model, only 5 films a year would make a profit
The horse's ass again blames Trump supporters for its well-deserved failure.
You found out their secrets. It’s why movies and tv are so terrible now.
I know right?!? July 2016- that’s what the polls said for sure!
Hope I got everyone’s name right...but thank you all for your help!
Maybe the movie was terrible.
The GB remake was hindered by being a terrible movie.
Female-led movies like Wonder woman, Alien, Kill Bill, Underworld, Lara Croft, Rogue One and Resident Evil did really well at the box-office, because they were fundamentally watchable.
The GB remake definitely was not watchable - I tried on an airplane once, but the first 5 minutes was so bad, I switched
