We’d just be putting ourselves in an echo chamber. We have to open the eyes of the moderates.

I remember reading about that.

There was a Democrat lawyer or doctor who testified to Congress backing up what you said. His name escapes me.

It was Dr. Robert Epstein. There’s a very excellent documentary called The Creepy Line.

About the many thousands of egregious abuses from google alone. Check it out sometime.

Perhaps, but I still think these are a form of common carrier and need to be treated as such. They are to phone companies, what phone companies were to telegraph companies.

From what I read it has been in the works since 2019, so it isnt some overnight thing.

If that's true I wonder if Trump was pushing the "Scarborough murdered his intern" tweets to push Twitter into censoring him. He knew they surely would have invented a reason and done so as the election approached to try to favor the dem, was it possible he pushed them to act now so he could knock that out of the way prior to the election.

Whatever order he signed will be designed for show rather than effect.

If he signed an EO on social media at all.

He has no authority to do anything substantial unless he invokes some clause in the Emergency Declaration.

And that’s a far reach.

That’s him!

I saw some of his testimony. It was powerful stuff. He laid out exactly how they do it. And its getting worse with AI developments. They can target the average voter that Trump needs and bombard them with liberal news (CNN/WaPo like they did with his ‘fact checking’). I suspect this is what alarmed Trump..

“Require that all social media platforms and websites permit Conservative Viewpoints.”

And the next Obama can require them to carry Black Panther TV and Friday prayers.

I have some reservations about this. I think Twitter and Facebook, etc. should monitor with two choices: 1) Let it pass. 2) Call the cops.

On the other hand, they’re private companies so I’m not sure how this is going to work. But even if it gets shot down, at least it brings some awareness to their biased censoring.

Pepsi,

I agree with you but I do not think that the government is the way to solve the problem.

Let the free markets control what happens. Do you want to hear 30 minutes of rat vomit on Rush’s daily show? That is what we are advocating.

When a president signs an executive order, it becomes law unless Congress overrides it in 90 days after he put it in the Federal register. Same for signing statements.

Congress can override an executive order with a simple majority vote, though the President can veto it. Only then would it take a two-thirds vote. Courts can also strike them down as unconstitutional.

I know you hate Trump, but he is on very solid ground to regulate the absolute living hell outta them.

Don't know a whole lot apparently.

“Agree with Huckabee.
These sites are are common carriers.”

Neither you or Huckabee know much about this subject.

The common carriers are mostly the same common carriers as telephone service. They are the internet backbone providers and service providers that all the bits ride on.

They do not look at the bits and are oblivious to their content and meaning.

Twitter and Facebook are just two of 10’s of thousands of different platforms that everyone has access to by virtue of the “common carriers”.

Everyone that has access to them, also has access to all the others.

I don’t see how it can be constitutional.

You know, that's what they said about PT threatening states in regard to church openings.

Yet, state after state has moved to open up worship services, including by my own idiot governor, Jay Inslee.

Do not underestimate the power of the bully pulpit as wielded by PT.

There have been EO’s that have targeted private companies in the past. I think so anyway. I can’t think of any off the top of my head.. Stuff like Defense procurement,
especially in War time.

I do agree with the use of the Bully Pulpit! Thats the power of persuasion not a “royal” decree”. That’s a Obama trick!
