While thousands of protesters marched through the streets of Long Beach Sunday to decry the in-custody death of George Floyd, looters hit stores across the downtown area, prompting officials to deploy the National Guard to the city.
The looters left storefronts smashed and glass littered across the street as they walked out the businesses carrying armfuls of merchandise near the Pike Outlets, videos posted online show.
Photos showed T-mobile, Guess and Forever 21 were among the businesses hit, with clothes left scattered on the ground after what started out as a peaceful protest with hundreds participating quickly turned chaotic as the crowds grew.
Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna said at least seven businesses were looted.

Glendale is third in terms of population in Los Angeles County...I did not hear about any riot going on in Glendale...A lot of Armenians live in Glendale...Some Hispanics live in Glendale...Very few blacks in Glendale...
I am familiar with Long Beach...Most areas in west part of Long Beach are not very nice...Many thugs live in those areas...Areas around Cal State Long Beach are OK...
In my opinion, most looters were from west part of Long Beach...
I heard on KFI radio that some protest is planned in San Fernando Valley on Monday...I am expecting more looting on Monday...
Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna, sipping on a Mai Tai at the Queen Mary’s Observation Bar, said at least seven businesses were looted.
News flash: No work boots or work clothes were stolen.
Then it's a riot.
These are all preplanned riots.
This is sedition and treason.
I actually have a funny Cal State Long Beach/Long Beach Police story. It involves SCUBA diving, the Jack in the Box on PCH, and the 49ers Tavern.
OMGosh, just thinking about the fake Spanish translating makes me laugh.

KCBS station reported that looting occured in Tarzana Sunday night...Tarzana is in San Fernando Valley...It is not very far from Van Nuys...There are some thugs in Van Nuys...
I want them to attack Silicon Valley.

That might happen...
I have a feeling that thugs will keep on misbehaving for next several days...
My local TV stations showed thugs being arrested by Santa Monica PD and LA County Sheriff Dept...I know about the zero bail situation...I just hope that some of those thugs decide to stay away from riot scenes after being arrested once...
Note the sign on the right:
"A THREAT TO ANYBODYS INJUSTICE IS A THREAT TO YOURS"
Oh my word! Now even our INJUSTICE is being threatened? Say it ain't so Joe!
Everyone - go grab your injustice ASAP and lock it in your gun safe to keep it away from looters.
PS: Laz, what about the one in the center? How far have your standards slipped since last I checked? :-)
They’re being real careful to not use professionally printed signs this time.
Its almost as if Joker was a nationwide prediction.
Hmmm, they always seem to bypass the public library
Cover for Biden’s failing campaign.
It was laughable how they kept repeating it, emphasizing how peaceful everything was, except for the looting, which was described in tones of sadness and dismay rather than outrage and disdain.
Compare that to the media coverage of the anti-lockdown protests, where there was no hostility to the cops, no looting, no destruction of property. I wonder how many times they said "peaceful" in describing those events, which actually were peaceful.
Love to hear it. (A fellow alumnus, class of 73.)
The younger Armenians appear to be more liberal and are rebelling against their more conservative parents. Their experience protesting the genocide of Armenians by Turks could be used to fuel similar protests against the police.
Many of the established Armenians are into real estate. They may want to protect all that investment by making sure the same thing happening on the West Side doesn't happen in Glendale.
But then they just built a bunch of apartments and had to fill them, in some cases with what looks like Section 8 residents.
So there might be a critical mass of gimmedats, dindonuffins, and rebellious Armenian millennials to cause a ruckus. Maybe the realtors will have to call in the Armenian mob to keep things tidy.
Books is like Kryptonite to looters.
