I agree with Rush. The one good thing to come of these riots is they took covid off the front page and when they are over the media will be hard pressed to generate more panic in covid again. People will be able to return to work again assuming their businesses have not been burned to the ground by rioters. CNN will have to pray for another Maylasian airliner to disappear to keep their tragedy centric reporting machine rolling.

Just elect some Democrats, and those food shortages will come swiftly. The Democrats will ban petroleum—its extraction, refining, production, sale, and combustion—to counter the great emergency of “global warming.” Without diesel fuel or some other form of petroleum, most trucks simply cannot run. Natural gas also faces bans, so they can try to run on biodiesel, which largely does not exist and typically requires fossil-fuel inputs.
If for some reason, that trick doesn’t produce the desired famine to welcome an advanced (read:totalitarian Communist) society, then they’ll try something else.

So why admit this now all of a sudden? Simple, they can't maintain both the 'going outside will kill you and more importantly you will endanger and kill others' narrative and the 'rioting protesters assembling in large numbers are the bestest americans ever' narrative at the same time.
They feel they've done all the damage to Trump they can with COVID, now they think they can get more in by tacitly endorsing riots. So now they drop the COVID panic stuff. Simple.
The lockdowns have not stopped. Only the coverage.
