I bailed from LA after the riots in 92 - and watching what the government didn’t do to fix the problems. Pulled the eject handle in 95. I’ve run into a surprising number of people that did the same thing over the years.
Given that now people see they won’t be allowed to defend themselves or their property in LA, I wouldn’t be surprised if the exodus is far larger this time - especially since suburbia in the Valley and down to Orange County isn’t being spared.
The laws of economics are relentless.
If the police will not and you are not allowed to defend your property, then it no longer holds it value.
That is _exactly_ how it works in the third world.
People hide their assets since they know they will be robbed if any wealth is shown in public.

I left l.A. back in 1978 when the L.A. County Sheriffs started having food control riots.
All water and food is shipped in to southern calif.

You nailed it. In previous riots MLK and Rodney King, the rich shopping areas and multi millon $ homes/businesses were spared.
This is not happening now. Everything is now a potential target around big liberal cities including LA.
The rich Californian must have had some intel re Antifa and large scale riots. Property values from Monterey increased during the Covin 19 bs. Now we may know why.
