Well he can, but it’s not done easily. Eisenhower sent federal troops against the wishes of a governor during desegregation. It should never be a casual move and throwing a tantrum because a president doesn’t do what you want when you want it makes for a very unserious talker.

Like I said, I’m really disappointed in Tucker and I may just watch something else before Hannity. Tucker has been nearly hysterical lately.

The only way it will end is if one side or the other gains a 70% majority in all three branches...

Theoretically. However, there remain many senate Rs that need to be purged (McConnell, Burr, Cornyn, Murkowski, Snowe, etc, etc), if that 2/3s supermajority were to mean anything, unfortunately. Same thing goes for the House.

Re: “Most people serving time in Federal prison are there for non-violent offenses.”

96% of federal inmates have pleaded guilty to a reduced charge.

When these people get early release, the general public has no idea what crimes they actually committed.

We also have no idea what crimes they committed when they did NOT get caught.

Good point.

Tucker’s schpeel was written well before trumps speech and he only had a little time to make some edits which sounded odd and out of place.

True. The nation isn’t going to collapse. This is small fraction of the American People. I think you will see a massive landslide for Trump in Nov because of this.

Do you even know how many Federal crimes there are on the books that are violent by any measure? I'll bet there are almost none. The U.S. Department of Justice didn't even exist until 1870. Up to that point, pretty much the only Federal crimes ever prosecuted were tax evasion and treason.

Heck -- up until the last few decades I don't think it was even a Federal crime to attack the President of the United States.

The federal government has essentially the same code for criminal violence that the states have.

The difference is that the most heavily populated federal land is almost always work related, so crimes of violence are rare - unless you watch JAG reruns or NCIS.

However, many violent criminals are charged with interstate flight to avoid prosecution.

Major drug syndicates are almost always involved in violent crime because of the huge amounts of money involved, but the prosecutions are almost always focused on the drugs.

Anyway, I agree there are fewer violent crimes at the federal level, but there are definitely many violent criminals under federal lock up.

I suppose there is a place for pundits that do nothing but complain and accuse - they serve to hold our “leaders’” feet to the fire. But it is far easier to be the one who criticizes every move that a leader makes, than to be the leader himself, who must be the one to make the decisions, and to have to bear the responsibility for those decisions. Tucker won’t have to live with the responsibility for all those hurt and killed if the President were to, for example, invoke the Insurrection Act and send troops into these cities.

It is quite clear that, whatever needs to be done, it will be ugly, and I am happy to see President Trump take the time to consider all options, and give the less drastic ones a chance to work first. You don’t go nuclear right off the bat - that’s what amateurs and fools do. Trump has shown that he is easily one of the most politically astute individuals to hold the office in my lifetime. I have no doubt he will do what must be done, at the appropriate time to do it.

I said that for years, and I agree with you.

We crashed the guardrails and went over the precipice, we just simply haven’t hit the canyon floor yet. These are just bumping the sides one the way down, until the fireball at the bottom.

This country is like the USSR in 1987. It’s disintegrating before our very eyes

Better analogy: this is November 1860, when Lincoln won the election, and war started five months later.

It's June 2020, the war has started, and the election is five months later.

Tucker's the only person who 'gets it'...

Ask yourself - WOULD THE PRESS PROVIDE COVER FOR US IF A BLACK COP KILLED A WHITE CRIMINAL AND WE BURNED DOWN BLACK COMMUNITIES AROUND THE COUNTRY?

God bless Tucker...

Ask yourself this.

Would the press provide cover for us if a black cop killed an innocent white woman who had called 911 for help to report what sounded like a rape in progress?

Because that already happened.

In Minneapolis.

With a Muslim policeman.

And it took 8 or 9 MONTHS to arrest him.

He's now serving 12 1/2 years as a felon.

Well, guess we have the right to to burn down Muslim communities around the country...based on that story... Right? Let's burn down Unitarian, Quaker, and Episcopal churches while we're at it... Let's find the place liberal elites love and burn them to the ground... Wouldn't that be fun if we were as lawless as the thugs liberal elites back?

Of course we won't do it because we believe in the law... but if the mob comes to our homes, we'll kill them.

I turned cable TV almost 10 years ago. He is the only person on TV I make it a point to listen to. He is calling what he sees as honestly as he knows how. So, you won't get an argument from me there.

Looks like your caps lock was stuck there for a bit.... Good to see you managed to break it loose.
