Figured this was already posted but Alas! I don't see it in keyword search.
Candace hasn't said much yet ... in this ... she says a lot - she takes the black community to task very fairly and with facts and reason. It's very heartfelt though, rather than standard media political argument/debate or take down of the other side -> often online or in interviews she's playing 'conservative political influencer / celebrity', but this is more natural, I think one of her best if not best.
Candace as her stuff together..she’s a joy to listen to.
She needs to turn the radio off when she talks.
I don’t disagree with the points she raises, but I do think it’s a minor part of the larger issue. Whatever Floyd George did in his life, up to and including the moment of his arrest, does not justify an extrajudicial killing by a street cop who has a duty to bring the suspect into the justice system. The officer has no authority to render street justice, or take matters personally, the other police on the scene had a duty to stop officer Chauvin and they did nothing. That is wrong.
The looters and anarchists who see this event as an opportunity deserve and are riding on the backs of otherwise peaceful protests are begging to be squashed, and they should be, but that first bit about an extrajudicial killing isn’t addressed, it won’t do anything for the communities who are marching for the end of extrajudicial killings and the mistreatment of some communities by police.
It’s not actually a complicated problem: some cops are awful and are hiding in the fabric of lawful and good police. Police are themselves free citizens and want to return to their families at the end of each shift. The criminals and anarchists want to see not the police and the community burned to the ground.
I don’t think what happened to him was right, but bottom line is, if George Floyd had just obeyed the law none of this would have happened.
Sure but she acknowledges that about 476 times and frankly even THAT is not the bigger point of this whole thing.
Ultimately, he's just a guy a bad cop appears to have killed or murdered or call it what you will. Blacks are not killed in greater numbers than whites and whites are killed by cops in greater proportion. There is not systemic police brutality against blacks.
So I'm not sure the point you're trying to make.
I think her broader point isn't just that Floyd isn't a guy to follow around like a holy martyr, but that the black community has its head up its butt in terms of making its situation better because it always identifies as a victim to whites -- and then chooses people with very bad character to make that point.
So sure - that Floyd was no martyr isn't the biggest point, but nor is the biggest point that whatever happened, which appears from the video released so far to be a bad kill, shouldn't have happened.
The BIGGEST point is 'what is happening as a result of what happened'. And THAT is her point. It's a combination of the black community being easily manipulated into victim mode over a false martyr, and then, too, is the organized/planned violence - which is frankly organizations controlled mostly by whites ... who are manipulating blacks.
So I guess I disagree with you -> I think she is speaking to the heart of the matter. What follows from George not being a hero, and her coming right out and saying it and why, is that the black community has once again been manipulated and lied to so as to cause them to rise up, in the name of the reverse of a hero, against something which is not the thing that is holding them back.
You may be hallucinating. Ther were NOT THREE PEOPLE SITTING ON HIM.
There was one callous cop kneeling on the side of his neck and kneeing him in the back for 9 minutes. This callous action caused the guy to die well before the 9 minutes were up.
Inexcusable lack of concern for human life.
The maneuver used was sanctioned by the police manual in that city BTW. The victim was suffering from numerous health conditions none of which were likely known by the cop.
In addition, the victim had two designer drugs in his system. In addition to his underlying health issues.
The DA escalating the charge from Third Degree to Second Degree is a major mistake in my opinion.
In fact, I suspect it is a purposeful decision designed to fail to get an acquittal and thus result in the second wave of Outrage and Violence close to the Presidential Election.
JUST BECAUSE the cop's behavior was wrong doesn't make it a race crime, doesn't justify what's going on and the reaction of the black community.
I think you're missing the point if your reaction to what Candace is saying is intended to excuse the cops behavior.
EVEN IF the cop's behavior was terrible, it's not grounds for a race riot, because system racist brutality is NOT backed up by the numbers.
Sometimes I feel like I talking the Covid Fear Mongers when it comes to this issue. No matter what anyone says, the answer is always 'that doesn't justify what the cop did'. Yeah, well no sh*t! But that's not the point anyone is making.
As far as I’m concerned, BLM’s cries and moans and feelings lack any legitimacy. They lack legitimacy because they did not cry and moan and protest when a black racist killer murdered an elderly white couple at a cemetery. They lack legitimacy because they do not cry, moan and protest when blacks murdered 19 of their fellow blacks last weekend, which to them is just a regular weekend. They lack legitimacy because at any given time, a dozen whites, asians, hispanics, whatever, are murdered by blacks by disproportionate numbers, and they do not cry, moan and protest for any of it.
So to hell with BLM. To hell with the black community’s feelings. To hell with all of their grievances! The only thing I’ll ever support for the black community is higher jail sentences and stripping them of affirmative action and welfare.
I think you mean it is designed to fail to get a conviction.
Yes. Thank you. A mistake on my part in my post. That’s exactly what I meant to say.
The virgin lamb pure of heart race martyrdom BS is indeed a liberal spiritual form of Nazism.
So I'm not sure the point you're trying to make.
The point I'm trying to make is that there was a man, a black man, killed on videotape in broad daylight by a police officer who had no reason and no authority to do so, while three other police officers stood by silently on the scene. If you don't see a man at the very least having his life endangered from irresponsible police behavior before your eyes, you can't engage with the other side of the argument at all. I believe there is a lot of room to come together on things with both the left and right of our political systems working together. However, if neither side decides to keep to consistent standards, it makes all things worse.
Of course, this all will fall on deaf ears to the liberals and blacks who instantly had their minds made up the minute they heard about it.
Did you even watch it? did you listen to what she said? Doesn't seem like you did. She made that same point at least 5 times in that video. Why are you still making out that she was saying anything different? She's not saying he deserved it for being a career criminal at all. She's saying he should not be made into the innocent martyr they're trying to make him in to.
Excuse me but where IN THE HELL are the protests for the 77 year old BLACK man that was killed by these thugs who was an exemplary citizen his WHOLE LIFE!! YES this cop was wrong but you are buying into this BS!! Candice is RIGHT???
Yeah but who DOESN'T acknowledge that unless there's some incredible video footage not shown yet (we're all wise to remember Rodney King) ... but who doesn't/hasn't acknowledge that this at least so far LOOKS like that?
Do you think you're virtuous to acknowledge that? Are you so naive as to think you would fix race relations if every white person simply said that?
I personally don't care what color he was or what color the cop was. I personally don't care if there were 5 people murdered by that cop with a machete knife.
That incident, even if it was totally racist, does not point to systemic racism by white cops EVEN IF that cop is a racist and planned to murder George 3 weeks ago with his buddy cops. There are white racists, black racists, Asian racists. There ARE racists.
"I believe there is a lot of room to come together on things with both the left and right of our political systems working together. However, if neither side decides to keep to consistent standards, it makes all things worse."
What exactly do you have in mind? You sound like you think the organized political energy behind this is sincere. Actually you really do sound like you believe the organized political left is sincere.
I really am interested to know what you have in mind with ... the left and right coming together.
But if you think most rational people don't see that video for what it most likely is, you must think you are very, very virtuous, alone in a sea of racists - which I think makes you a little crazy or not really conservative (which is fine, but I assume you consider yourself conservative.) And if you think the political left leadership is sincere and that these riots are spontaneous rather than manufactured by both planning and manipulation, then I think you are very very naive.
Candace gets it!
She is awesome!
I would vote for her in a heartbeat!
Candace is rock solid conservative and not afraid of political correctness at all.
