LOS ANGELES Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said Wednesday that he tasked the city to identify $250 million in cuts to invest more money into the black community, communities of color, women and people who have been left behind."
The Los Angeles Times reported that the city will try and cut between $100 million to $150 million from its police budget alone. Garcetti said it is incumbent on the city to step up and say, What can we sacrifice?
The mayor said that the city will not increase its police budget of $1.8 billion. Deadline reported that Garcetti said that he will offer more specifics at a later press conference but said the money will be distributed now, not years from now.

democrat idiocy
look for crime to skyrocket
This should work well.
I’ve got to get out of here.
I guess it was too much trouble just to pile the money up and burn it.
I’m waiting for the Bay Area, which is still on lockdown in most counties there, to head in that direction with all of the tech, income, and bond money being redirected to SJW activities. I miss the California mild weather there, but not much else since leaving the Bay Area in the Fall of 2018.
Man, liberals think like two year olds.
Less money, less police, more crime. Gee this SOB Garcetti is smart. Hope a mob of his victimized constitutes do a Judge Roy Bean on him on main street.
Looting literally happened where there was no police presence,in Beverly, Melrose & Santa Monica. Less cops? Sounds brilliant.
COmmunity of colors, AKA foreign terrorist organization
More free stuff for the looters, because looting isn’t enough.
Its not misguided. Its deliberate groundwork for round 2. Think regrouping and new counteroffensive. We are at war and the enemy is very long sighted.
If you live in LA, it’s time to get out.
Whoever is the last to evacuate LA be sure and turn out the lights.
Stay safe!
Because there are more looter voters than store owner voters.
I guess it was too much trouble just to pile the money up and burn it.

I agree that it will probably be a waste of money...
Mayor just sounds too naive when he makes his speeches...
Drive thru PP on every block.
Yep. How many billions of dollars have gone to these communities over the years and yet the problems still persist.
Who knows where the 100 mil will come form in the LAPD budget, but it will likely mean less proactive policing and more respond to calls for service or reduced staffing increasing response times. Look to NYC before Rudy took charge, that is the future of LA and NYC with de Blazio in charge.
Answer: since LBJ, We have spent about $17 trillion on great society programs, almost as much as the national debt. And they still want reparations?
