Generals WIN battle with Donald Trump as 82nd Airborne soldiers are REMOVED from D.C.

Generals WIN battle with Donald Trump as 82nd Airborne soldiers are REMOVED from D.C. after chairman of joint chiefs publicly slammed president telling troops to 'uphold the Constitution'

Soldiers with the 82nd Airborne division of the Army were ordered out of Washington, D.C. and back to Fort Bragg, North Carolina on Thursday night

The about 200 active duty troops were kept on standby at bases near the nation's capital and were never called into the city in the midst of riots

The move is a clear reversal after Donald Trump faced backlash for calling in the military to serve as backup should the National Guard need assistance

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, former Army General John Allen and former Defense Secretary James Mattis all pushed back against Trump

Milley told troops in a Thursday memo to 'uphold the Constitution' 'We all committed our lives to the idea that is America' after he defended protesters' right to assemble,' he added in pen at at the bottom of the letter

Mattis and retired four-star General Allen both bashedTrump in separate op-eds

They specifically called out police clearing Lafayette Park with tear gas and rubber bullets so Trump could visit a church across the street for a photo-op.

'It may well signal the beginning of the end of the American experiment,' Allen said of the church visit where Trump held up his bible for photos .

'Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people - does not even pretend to try,' Mattis wrote

If I am correct, the 82 Abn was used in the Detroit riots of the 60’s. How about Eisenhower sending the troops to Little Rock to enforce school desecration. Am I wrong here?

Or the use of the military on the Bonus Army marchers which resulted in civilian deaths. Thank MacArthur and Patton for that. Use of the military on American soil should not happen unless we are invaded by a foreign enemy.

Excellent letter.

BTW, I know this article is the MSM but even if it’s mostly false (and I’m not sure it is, since I know at least the two former officials made those statements yesterday), this is how the situation is being depicted and we have to know that. And it’s being depicted to our enemies this way, as if Trump is no longer in control of the military and they are not under his command in any way.

They’re playing a very dangerous game.

The 82nd Airborne LEFT the city. If they didn’t want to leave then no one was going to force them to leave.

The sheath is mightier than the sword. Their failure to understand this may be why they are no longer in command. Oh, nose. He’s buckling on his sword belt. That means he’s going to commit mass murder—NOT!

Sources are telling Dan #Bongino that they are genuinely concerned that some upper level people in our military are openly talking about defying the President of the United States. “That’s got a name. That’s called a mutiny.”

Mattis is auditioning for a spot in Biden’s Vice-President’s Cabinet.
Mattis is a treasonous sot, giving aid and comfort to our enemies in a time of war.

Yeah, could be. Someone should ask Mattis what is wrong with maintaining order against looters. Or, if the Insurrection Act is a law, how is invoking it “against the Constitution”?

The point is even the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff publicly opposed Trump and addressed himself directly to the troops, calling on them to “follow the Constitution,” as if Trump was violating it. Which he was not, everything he did is perfectly legitimate and within his constitutional powers.

But it’s a seriously bad sign when a senior military staff member - especially this one - publicly opposes the CnC and addresses the troops directly. That’s coup territory.

Ike was only an LTC when he was promoted (by FDR) over the heads of lots of generals. Trump should do the same with 30 bird colonels to replace rotting deadwood generals.

>> As he has disgraced himself, the uniform and the Corps, Mattis is better considered to be a punk, rather than a general. A loud-mouthed punk.

Mattis’ political ambitions resulted in the never-ending persecution of the Haditha Marines.

Mattis wrote his screed for The Atlantic Magazine. Allen probably likewise. They are private citizens and free to say what they want. They have no rank and no power to do anything else. But gripe.

Retired Generals do not have any say in the matter and Esper should be removed and replaced with someone who will follow the commander In Chiefs directive Period. We are getting very close to Civil War!!
