Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Friday the United States should celebrate Juneteenth, the day commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S., by enacting Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s (D-TX) legislation forming a commission to study proposals for issuing reparations.

People like to talk about it, but NO ONE knows what it really means. Of course, it’s always open-ended, meaning if American are made to pay reparations, there is no end to it. Who gets reparations? Only descendants of slaves or all black citizens? What about people who are half, quarter, or only a small fraction African American? Do wealthy black people also qualify? Who pays? Everyone or only white Americans? What about recent immigrants?
No one has ANY answers.

The total number of Africans brought to colonial America as slaves was 399,000. Page 40 under "African immigration in chains". The height of the slave population in this country was in 1830. The population of slaves had grown to 2,000,000 individuals. Same page and story.
Here is the eye opener. The Total number of Africans imported into Spanish America:
(Cuba, Mexico, Central America and South America) was 1,552,100.
British Caribbean (Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Jamaica, Honduras) was 1,665,000.
Danish Caribbean Leeward Islands) 28,000.
French Caribbean Surinam, Guyana) 1,600,200.
Dutch Caribbean (Aruba and Leeward Islands) 500,000.
Brazil imported a total of 3,646,800 Africans into their country as slaves.
About 6% of the total slavery into the western hemisphere ostensibly ended up in the United States and of course slavery as an institution was still carried on in the eastern hemisphere by Africans themselves.....yet when one is reminded of this terrible Scourge on the history of mankind we somehow seem to only be reminded of the evilness of the slave trade in the U.S.A. This also dispels the notion, promulgated by some, that slavery was somehow responsible for the economic success of this nation. If that is the case why isn't Brazil such an economic dynamo.....or Aruba.....or....you get my meaning.
This information should probably be presented when discussing reparations! I originally wrote this about ten years ago and I see this stupid idea is beginning to crop up once more.
By the way- who do descendants of white folks who fought and died to free the black slaves send the bill to?
White folks fought and died to free black folks- White folks paid a huge price for it too, and didn’t charge for it either- Shall descendants now make out a bill since certain folks on the left want to impose fines on white folks??
No reparations, only repatriation...to the African countries that captured and sold your ancestors into slavery.

I am also a direct descendant of Quaker abolitionists and union soldiers. They received no reparations, or appreciation from those they fought and died for. If they want reparations, then first go to the party of slavery, the KKK, etc. Demand direct payment from the democrat party. If they don’t want to pay then piss off.
