Decent people protect each other in a crisis situation. Masks aren’t perfect but they help. What is the big deal? Put one on when you go out so ‘opening up the economy’ is easier for all of us.

You shouldn’t. The protesters mess up that count. An d a mask is not the answer to “defeating” this illness.
It is a virus. In an article put out by John Hopkins early this month, they state the virus is transmitted by respiratory droplets and by fomite (clothing, utensils. etc..) Virus found in respiratory secretions and saliva was the predominant source of transmission.
When you consider that a virus is so small, and there are no filters that can stop it, any mask short of scba is a joke. If through natural breathing, saliva gets on the cloth or paper mask you are using, and you cough, sneeze, or turn your head rapidly, you are expelling the virus. It is recorded by the CDC that an unabated sneeze can travel through mist over 8 feet. Again quoting the CDC: other manners of spread is by asymptomatic infected people simply breathing, talking, yelling or singing. These activities aerosolize virus, creating airborne virus particles – also called droplet nuclei – that are so tiny they can float around in the air for three hours. Coughing and sneezing produce larger water and virus-borne droplets, as well as producing aerosolized virus. So mask or no, it is going to be expelled through the mask.

Because it’s obviously BS unless all 11% live within a 30 mile of my house. Masks are worthless however distancing is effective but 3 to 5 feet is fine.
