Rand Paul: Who Benefits from Afghanistan ‘Bounty’ Leak?
Breitbart ^ | July 2nd | Sen. Rand Paul

... But in examining the leaker’s motives, it is important to ask further: Who benefits?

Sure, the usual partisan Democrats benefit. But let’s not miss that the war caucus (a.k.a. the Never-Trump neocon warmonger playgroup) is using this leaked rumor to advocate for staying indefinitely in Afghanistan.

As President Trump tries to end America’s longest war, the usual forever war advocates like Liz Cheney are using this so-called “intelligence” to criticize the president for trying to end the Afghan War.

The Defense Authorization bill before the Senate bashes the president’s push to end the war by stating that any attempt to leave Afghanistan after nineteen years would be “precipitous.”

If the leak is not a complete fabrication, it could endanger our agents or their sources in the field.

But, it’s even more important to understand the felony leaker’s motives. If the leaker is part of the neocon collaborative that seeks perpetual war, realize that leaking any information, whether verified or not, that can foment fear of Russia in Afghanistan also impedes President Trump’s desire to end the war.

Too bad not a single Democrat in Washington remembers their once-upon-a-time opposition to forever wars. To Democrats in Congress, it seems more important to beat up President Trump as “weak” on Russia than admit that the Russian bounty leak may well be motivated by war advocates hidden deep, deep within our very own intelligence community.

That is an inconvenient truth that formerly anti-war Democrats now completely ignore.

The Dems were trying for a gotcha....da Pelosi and Schumer were aroused. She really spouted venom and you could hear the word “impeach” in the background.

So the Democrats are now pro-war? This is why the Bush officials are supporting Biden. They want a war and know Biden would give them it

The NYT was leaked exceptionally detailed info and got more when challenged. Including the precise date the threat was included in the PDB.

This is an inside job by senior people who either want to maintain or escalate the war in Afghanistan or want to portray Trump as out of touch and incompetent so he loses the election.

I'd say the odds of each are about equal.

These are evil people I’m afraid.

They want perpetual war at any cost.

During the beginning of the Afghan War, I was a Red Cross Volunteer. They put me on the Ward 52, The Swamp, the amputation ward.

The best was when grad’s would show up. Strutting in with artificial limbs. Walk up and talk to the Newbies and tell them they gotta go, they were gonna go wind surfing on the Chesapeake and next year you are going with us!!!!

The hardest but best experience I have ever had.

My respect for our military and first responders is through the roof!!!!

Democrats are only anti-war when the war is being waged by a Republican President. If it's waged by one of their own, it's all good, because then it isn't really a war, it's "peacekeeping", a "humanitarian mission", or something equally Orwellian.

Yes, Clinton’s war in Serbia was convenient to say the least.

And Obama killing Gadaffi unleashed the gates of hell in Libya which has been mired in civil war since.

What a mess ...

One thing you can say about Trump he hasn’t started a new conflict unlike is FIVE predecessors!

Trump's foreign policy instincts are sound (even if he doesn't always surround himself with advisors who share his attitude) - he'd like to draw down some of our existing conflicts and keep us out of future ones. It's ridiculous to hear liberals talk about how Trump is going to start World War III or send nuclear missiles flying when he seems to want to avoid sending US troops into further conflicts.

I'm not sure what besides historical amnesia or relentless propaganda created the myth of liberal Democrats being the "party of peace" - Democrats have gotten us into more pointless or questionable conflicts during the 20th century than Republicans.

The democrats love the money from the military industrial complex, not as much as the republicans, but enough for them to hate Donald trump.

Yeah their base doesn’t like it though and you’ll see many liberals upset on twitter at the latest manoeuvres in the House to box Trump in.

Of course the Democrats are owned by the Military Industrial Complex that Ike warned us about just as much as the GOP

HA! You made the same point I did...

Both are owned by the donor class. However Trump has not started a new conflict. He is not beholden to them.

I can only engine what Biden would do. He will give the neocons a new war if they put him in office.
