I’d scratch the ones where another country is the outright aggressor - regardless of caveats (1812, arguably Mexican-American War, WWII, Al Quaeda/Taliban), but otherwise your point is well-taken. For instance, even in cases where the other party is the aggressor or the enabler of the aggressors (Afghanistan), the initial bombing and short-term war effort was justified, a long-term presence under the pretense of “nation building” is pure, naive hubris or worse.
The Bernie Sanders types may not care for it, but the DNC rank and file will gladly swallow whatever the party establishment feeds them.
