The best of that sad lot is Val Demings. She appears to be fairly intelligent and well-spoken and knows something about law and order. Its clear in some of the hearings that she’s toed the Dem Party line (e.g., most recently with Barr), but she’s a less foaming at the mouth racist that the rest of the black female contenders. I don’t even know if she’s really a socialist at heart—something to think about when Joe is a walking dementia man.

Close. They are kicking the VP selection down the road because once announced, she will be out campaigning all over the place. By comparison, it will be obvious to all that Basement Biden's brain is the reason he's not on the campaign trail, not because of COVID-19. It shortens the political season and reduces exposure to Biden, his gaffes, and his senility.
