In the midst of a heated nationwide debate on sending children back to school during the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Mike DeWine announced a statewide mask mandate for students headed to in-person school this fall.
The mandate affects grades K-12. Under previous guidance, only teachers and staff were required to wear face coverings. Schools were left to decide face covering policies. The state will work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to distribute two million masks to schools, DeWine said.
“Frankly this gives us the best shot that we can,” he said.

They need to watch the teacher I saw on facebook - masks for kids at school will not work. She said there’s the nose picker, there’s the class clown who will have it everywhere except his face, there’s the whiner/cryer who will say they don’t want to wear a mask, she went through several, quite comical and accurate.

this is getting pretty frikkin ridiculous, open the damn schools, open the damn country, some people will die, most will get a little sick maybe. When is all said and done it will be considered no greater than a Severe Influenza Season.
Zero to no deaths under the age of 20 and this is the crap they come with...

I did a quick google search and 17 kids under 5 have died from covid. Not many but wouldn’t want to be the parent of one.

Great video! I spent quite a few years as an urban high school teacher. I had some great honors classes. And I had my share of remedial classes. In those remedial classes I had my hands full just keeping the kids from not attacking each other.
My chances of enforcing a mask policy in those remedial classes would be zero. As in 0.00.
And here’s the best part. Should an administrator walk in, it wouldn’t be “Johnny, why aren’t you wearing your mask?”
It would be “Teacher, why are you letting Johnny sit there without a mask?”
LOL!
I expect if schools do open that they’ll be closed again with 2 months. You get some adults dropping from the covid at school and people will demand it. If children, young people contract it, the demand will be even stronger.
