In a shocking speech to the National Governors Association, Secretary Mike Pompeo revealed that he is in possession of a list of American governors who have been listed as “friendly” by Chinese Communist infiltrators. Pompeo said he had received an earlier invitation from a former governor to attend a networking event that promised great “deal-making” opportunities with the Chinese government.
This networking event was run by “The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship in Foreign Countries,” said Pompeo. But what the US participants might not have known is that “the group is the public face of the Chinese Communist party’s official foreign influence agency, the United Front Work Department.” Pompeo knew of this connection from his former position at the CIA. He questioned the governors on how many of them knew that this group was a Communist-front group. “What if you made a “new friend” at the China networking event?” he asked. “What if your ‘new friend’ offered to invest big money in your state, perhaps in your pension fund, or make a Chinese invest in an industry sensitive to our national security?”
And then Pompeo dropped a huge bomb on the crowd.
“These aren’t hypotheticals. Last year a Chinese government-backed think tank in Beijing produced a report that assessed all fifty of America’s governors on their attitudes toward China. They labeled each pol friendly, hardline, or ambiguous.”

To be perfectly honest, none of us knows the truth. My gut feeling is MI will go to the Dem (whomever replaces Biden). I am in the rabidly leftist southeast Michigan region. They love Whitchmore, Hitlery and BLM---a lot. Proudly and calmly have bumper stickers and signs for them.
If someone here put a Trump sticker on their vehicle, an hour later it would take the Michigan State Police a long time to scrape the charred soot off the VIN plate to tell what the burned heap was.
Until it happens to you it's hard to describe the feeling I had years ago, returning to my car and finding the engine was badly vandalized with parts missing. The wrong bumper sticker.

There was a poll in June that had 60% approving her handling of the pandemic. Current polls (within the last few days) have her around 50%

Of the 600 people surveyed between May 30 and June 3, 55% gave the governor positive marks for her job overall while 43% gave her a negative rating.
When it comes to the pandemic, 60% of those surveyed approved of Whitmer’s response. President Donald Trump earned a 41% approval rating for his response to the pandemic, with 58% of those polled giving him a negative rating.

As with most polls, they are biased toward democrats, and are really unreliable.
Hopefully by the clean end. If he picks Whitemer, he just lost Michigan, no matter what the polls say.
