GOP operative David Gergen was always a Democrat but came out of the closet when Clinton became POTUS. It was a ‘career continuation’ for him. Kristol must think Biden has the skills of B.J. At least Mittens is safe but what does Kristol get out of supporting a losing cause?

They certainly didn't want to cancel debates when they dropped the Access Hollywood smear on Trump two days before a debate in 2016. They only want to cancel them when their candidate, who we've known for decades they assure us, can't even muster up the level of incoherency he managed during all those years. 'Just look at old tape of him from years ago, that's enough' they tell us.
Any debate - fair or unfair - will favor President Trump. The Democrats and their supporters know this, which is why they will try not to have Biden debate President Trump. They fear the possibility of a crippling gaffe from Biden.

I don’t think debate avoidance will gain him votes. I think the democrats have put all their marbles on mail-in ballots and ballot harvesting. They will continue Operation Misery with the virus to suppress the economy now that they have seen the polling numbers for Operation Chaos and are slowly abandoning that scheme.
The GOP should go ahead with the debates and have a stand in for Biden who answers every question with “Come on Man!” and “get your facts straight Jack!.” They could have the stand in virtual Joe pull out some good Bidenism’s like “you are a lying dog faced Pony soldier” and “well, I better not say that or I will get in trouble.”
I think that would be effective.

I did too. Some of them, like George Will way back in the day. But never Bill Kristol. Something about that creepy smile when he'd talk was off putting. He gave a weird vibe. His words were okay, warmongerish of course but nothing like the current level of vitriol he spews. But his facial expression ... he just looked like a creepy fake trying to lure someone into his van with an offer of candy or something.
I just could never like the guy. Turns out my instincts in his case were spot on.
Bill Kristol is one of the first people I would vote off the island if I could. Just a complete embarrassment and a daily reminder that nails on a chalkboard will never be considered white noise

From the brilliant mind that brought us the Second Iraq War, 4000 dead of our best, 100,000 Iraqis dead, countless scarred for life, the eviction of the Christians, a pro-Iran government, all at a monetary cost of $ 7 trillion.
Those who know Biden best and his current deteriorated mental state are all pushing for no debates. That tells me with certainty that Biden will fall flat on his face during all 3 debates and that Trump will win going away based on Biden's failure to indicate he is competent mentally.

Trump should go, answer the questions and let creepy stumble through talking about putting wheels on canoes and bread in dog houses. Trump should not acknowledge anything he says and just continue answering questions from the moderator
It would show that Trump wasn’t going to Embarrass Biden’s condition and show he is above that and took the debate seriously.
Trump would gain 15 points from that type of performance.
