Ah, but we, fortunately, have not seen Slo-Joe in office since he lost his mind.
Commentary Magazine was the flagship of neoconservatism. Norman Podhoretz.
I read it for several years during Reagan and ended up without any illusions concerning neoconservatism.
It’s an urban twist on what had been known as liberal internationalism during the 1960s. What Rockefeller/Lindsey Republicans shared with liberal Democrats.
There’s nothing the least bit conservative about it. It just wasn’t Leftist, like the subversives who began taking control of the Democratic Party during the 1970s.
But neocons are much closer to Leftism than to they are to the traditional conservatism you would have once found in the old National Review. And that’s why you now see some of them denouncing Trump and endorsing Biden.
“Bill Kristol is one deranged individual.”
He’s the same weasel that he’s always been. Now it’s out in the open.
“the disaster that would be Biden’s presidency!”
People may not remember that Kamala is who Obama was backing when she was campaigning for the Presidential nomination.
He’s still backing her. It’s why Biden took her as VP, Obama pressured him to do it.
They know that Biden isn’t capable of handling the job and that’s how they want it. After they are elected Biden will have to step down due to failing health and Obama will get a 3rd and 4th term via Kamala.
Biden will come up with lame excuses. It really doesn’t matter because the press will cover for him.
Presidential debates are entirely voluntary. We’re just so used to them we think that they are required.
Good points!
But, then again, if these GROPElite NeoConn’s did support the true libertarian and contrarian parties, they'd never get mentioned in the democrat mass media's TV shows on ABCNNBCBS!
My question to Never Trumper Republicans: Since your hatred for Trump is so great that you are willing to put socialists in power just to get Trump out of office, were you ever really one of us? More to the point, did you ever really believe in conservatism or was that just a convenient vehicle for you to use to obtain power and/or wealth? The answer to that question has got to be yes if you are willing to vote for a progressive/socialist
We ought to post Bill’s Neo-Con Phenomenon essay as it’s own thread, it’s as valuable today as when he wrote it.
And since it’s his own blog we could post it in it’s entirety if he has no objection; then maybe more than the usual 1% of freepers would actually read the piece before posting whatever stray thought the title inspires in them.
Please be my guest. I have been fighting the Leftist war on reality for 70 years.
Who cares?
