Chester Alan Arthur's father was an immigrant. Besides that, Kamala spent a good part of her youth in Montreal.
In any important decision, fear is a huge motivator. No one really fears another four years of Trump. A vast majority truly fear a Biden presidency, and they are much more motivated.
