"Power reliability better in India?!? California going 3rd world fast. More:" It's not a question of reliability. These are intentional shut-offs not accidents. The immediate problems is about capacity.

Maybe there's a huge black cloud lingering over the state. 🤷♀️

Yeah, technically but “lack of capacity = lack of reliability” in my mind too. “Reliability” to me means how many days/hours per year is the power supply kept on. (Not counting drunk drivers hitting poles). Was pretty bad in my area of CA for awhile due to PG&E skimping on maintenance (bad transformers in a sub-station, etc.).

The liberals who run our state never have to explain any of their failures, they just go on to their next power grab. At some point it’s either them or us, but we cannot surive with them running our lives. Running things right into the ground, while they make themselves filthy rich.
It’s always the same in every socialist hell hole.

Yeah SoCal Edison & SDGE also affected...this whole “rotating/rolling blackout” thing is inherently “unfair” because CALlSO is monitoring HV transmission lines for overloads and telling PG&E, SoCal Edison & SDGE to cut power in the area served by the overloaded high-voltage lines (generation not spread out 100% evenly across the state), so some areas are affected by rolling blackouts more than others.

CA consumes more power than all but 3 nations. We like our AC and its been between 100 and 114deg depending where in the state you are. In my town it was 108 with 21% humidity. No wind. That means we need some nukes! CA load at 6 pm was 47 gigawatts. Each nuke plant adds about 1 gigawatt. Probably shouldn't be advertising this but Texas doesn't have outages, 6PM usage was almost 75GW and capacity was almost 80GW: http://www.ercot.com/. And ERCOT doesn't even cover the entire state.
May God keep blessing Texas, President Trump, Israel and PM Netanyahu!
