If I was a student I would tell the school that I didnt have a cell phone. If colleges want to contract trace their students the they should be paying for the damned phones.
Several options
1 Change university
2 Tell you them you dont have a phone
3. Get a cheap used phone with a 1 month sim
fascism is as fascism does ...
The Democrats’ dream.
How low, would have been our real Covid 19 death rate? If these granny killing democrat governors had gotten the virus and died in the first week? Instead of them killing the innocent grannies!
Mass murderers of nursing home patients!:
Faces of PSYCHOPATHS. Exhibit A.
Universities are often tyrannical. I learned the hard way with my son (at a public CA college)—he went to a “university physician” for treatment for a cold, the PA decided his BMI was “too low” (15, but he’s 6’7” and naturally thin) and he told his NCAA coach, without getting my son’s consent, and he couldn’t play his sport until he got a bone scan (of course normal—it was ridiculous) and a NOTE FROM HIS HOME PEDIATRICIAN verifying his BMI had been low all his childhood.
All along my son had assumed he was protected by privacy laws but it turns out those aren’t applicable in universities. (Similar to how college men have no due process rights with sexual assault charges at colleges).
After that, he only went to non-university physicians.
Anybody who agrees to that is a fool.
People who submit to this tyranny will easily board the gulag trains when their Marxist totalitarian masters come for them.
An otherwise healthy college student is probably more likely to die from being struck by lightning than from the virus. This whole thing is insane. Anyone who doesn’t see it by now is malicious.
Michigan college tracks every movement of students....
“Hey, there’s a camera and mic in my toilet.”
University: “That’s a movement. We will track it. We noticed you should be eating more fiber.”
No way! Id remove my kids from that place immediately
This will provide tracking data for sexual misconduct complaints.
How is this legal. Does HIPPA still apply anymore. They want to trace all your medical info.
1. Attend Albion College
2. Install their app
3. Let it upload a “selected” set of your data with a few “additional” features. (Embedding executables in data is trivially easy).
4. When your “selected data” suddenly is compromised and “made public” containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) data, sue the President, Chancellor, CIO, Dean of Student Affairs, and everyone else working for the college for the college’s entire endowment, and their personal fortunes.
5. Lather, rinse, and repeat until you are richer than Buffet, Gates, Soros, and Zuckerberg, combined; and everyone who ever worked for Albion college has committed suicide from terminal despair.
6. To ensure Albion College ceases to exist forever, after you have more money that you will ever need, get with your classmates and make the suits class action.
There was an article a few years back about schools wanting to use bracelets to track students. They want to do this with everyone and cellphones make it way too easy for them, permission or not.
The daughter of a gal my son works with is in a private college up north and has the same tracking system. At this school she’s required to get two covid tests per week.
The app on her phone gives her the green light to enter buildings. Once she’s around someone who tested positive she’ll be blocked from access and quarantined.
Almost wish I went there. With some Android versions, you have developer options you can turn on and let you spoof GPS coordinates to your phone. This is Fer testing purposes, but it woild sure be fun to heleport around the world and back and see what the school thinks!
Bet they don’t require testing for all the hundreds of other visitors, such as UPS or FEDEX drivers, trash collectors, food vendors, fuel delivery, etc.
