The NFL is preparing to end the use of military honor guards to present the American flag ahead of the national anthem, according to reports.
A league source claims that the policy benching military, federal, and police guards is part of its COVID-19 response, according to Front Office Sports.

It appears that there will be no flags on the field and the flag will only appear on electronic scoreboards during the playing of the national anthem, at least for the beginning of the season.

the NFL NBA and professional soccer are all working hard at committing suicide. Unless they make a complete turnaround, they will all soon be facing bankruptcy. I had been an ardent fan. That is, until last year when I quit watching and stopped following the teams on the sports page - totally quit, cold turkey!!! Many others are doing the same.

I watched the super bowl when Colon Kaepernick was QB for the 49’ers. They didn’t win. He had an interesting biography and lots of potential, but couldn’t deliver when it counted. So he was gone. The next I heard of him, he had decided to destroy the NFL by using Black Lives Matter as his wrecking ball. In my opinion, he succeeded beyond his own abilities. What does it say about someone who, when he can’t compete in a league, he burns it all down? And how in the world did a third-rate quarterback who managed to get to the Super Bowl have enough power to destroy the NFL? It is really amazing when you look at it.
I think that was the lasty super bowl I watched. I missed the next one, and the season when Kaepernick knelt, I stopped right there. I haven’t watched a combined total of 15 minutes of NFL since. I won’t be starting back anytime soon, and it looks like they will never be able to be forgiven.
I hope they all have to take a huge pay cut due to dwindling ratings,fan participation and slumping paraphernalia sales.
What an insult! It is their fan base that made them millionaires, it is their fan base that will walk away.
What patriotic American is still tuning in and supporting this nonsense. Real role models for their kids and grandkids. . .NOT.
There will still be plenty of jugheads on FR that will still watch in secret and then come here and post how much they hate the NFL.
Good, that will speed up the end of the thug league.

The league is not the sport. They are begging for competition.
We are just using coronavirus as an excuse for their policy. If BLM can run around protesting holding their flags, well you get the point.
Why are you surprised?
The owners of most pro sports franchises despise you, despise your beliefs, despise your country, and especially despise the military except to the extent it is still useful at being conned into fighting other nation's battles.
Why should they honor what they despise?

Roger Goodell, reminds me in the movie Hunt for Red october, wherein the EX tells the captain, you killed us all after firing a torpedo with safeties off. This guy is a complete turd. Of course, he is the voice of the NFL owners so that makes them all turds. Unfortunately there are enough dopes in the US who will still turn on this S..t show and keep the money flowing in. To these guys, that is the bottom line, money.
F the NFL, Boycott!! It is time that the taxpayers stop the habit of military flyovers at NFL games.
