I find the delay to be an interesting legal move. As far as I know, there are only four reasons for denying an extradition request from one state to another:

the extradition documents facially are not in order;
the person has not been charged with a crime in the demanding state;
the person is not the person named in the extradition documents; or
the person is not a fugitive.

Perhaps this is just a delay to get the paperwork right???

For those of you who don’t know, Kenosha, WI is all of 3 miles from the IL state line. For people who don’t want to recognize the border between the U.S. & Mexico, these people are making a very big deal of a state line that most don’t pay attention to at all in their daily lives.

I realize state lines can become important when crimes are involved, but this is just being silly. It’s like charging him with “fleeing the state to avoid arrest” when he just went home a few miles away.

I had read somewhere that it was his friend's rifle, so he did NOT bring it across state lines.
