Both Democrats and Republicans came together this morning to vote on if Governor Ned Lamont's decision on extending the emergency declaration powers to February would be overturned

In a vote 6-4, the special committee voted on party lines to allow Gov. Lamont's decision to move forward.

The extension, which would be in place until February 2021, means certain COVID-19 measures will remain until changed otherwise by the governor.

“The public health emergency is not over. Period. We have a duty to protect the people of this state. Politics cannot interfere with this duty. Wear your mask. Social Distance. Minimize large gatherings of people. Test. Follow the law. Our lives depend on it,” Attorney General Tong said regarding the vote.

Remember 14 days to flatten the curve...a almost a year later. This dictator is still getting paid while thousand of people loose savings, businesses, etc.

With this EVERY CT resident should switch to survival mode. I have cut back on things like restaurants, non-essential shopping, etc. At this rate the only thing left in Febuary will be WalMart and other big chain establishments.

I can guarantee he will be try for tax increases next year.

Both Democrats and Republicans came together on a party line vote? What kind of BS is that. You can do one, come together, or two vote on a party line.

This shtt has gotten out of control.

I will take good money here that indoor dining doesn’t happen to New York until close to 2022.

I don’t rule out 2022 either

While I do have lots of relatives in this area andIt is nice to be close to family, I am not currently tied down by family Or school and while I do make An OK living, I have been looking at other opportunities. these other opportunities do exist in the state, However, with this order my search has and will be expanded to find a less communist state to live in.

There won't be any indoor dining left by close to 2022. All those restaurant owners and employees will need to find other ways to finance their lifestyle.

But think of the glut of coders available for hire. Everything can be automated by then.

Gotta keep the spotlight on the so-called pandemic. Nevermind that Connecticut's financial woes before, during, and after this charade are waiting to sink the state and it's residents.

I will bet that all the cultural events and festivals libs love will be cancelled until late summer at the earliest and the left will whine about two years of cancelled events and of course blame Republicans.

I expect only grocery stores, gas stations, Wal-Mart and big name fast food chains to survive this (Taco Bell, McD, etc.).

In my town, people wait in crazy lines for ......... ice cream.

The lines are much longer than Taco Bell or McD. 50% to 100% longer. I see it every night I drive past there.

We have to see their big picture. The entire lock down is a punishment. It’s a choke chain. The vaccine will be ready to roll out in November or December. It will be multiple vaccines. Once you are vaccinated, they can trace you and force you to get the others. They will promise that if you get the vaccine you can “go back to normal.“
