I have not been all that fond of Mitch up until he started working on Trump’s judges. Has he always been this pro conservative and i didn’t know?

No. Mitch is not pro-conservative. He’s the opposite. But wants to remain in the Senate and as Majority Leader. For that he needs conservative support. And he can do that by confirming judges.

And Trump has been sending the Senate mostly only real conservatives, unlike the moderates the Bushes nominated.

So McConnell’s been in a box.

But the reality is that politicians move with the people, and Mitch knows if he’s viewed as a conservative, he’ll get reelected. And Trump may be gone and he can go back to being Democrat-helpful Mitch.

But Trump won’t be gone. So...

He’s running for re-election. Has to show people he’s doing his job.

He’ll go back in his shell Nov. 4.
