The museum says the diorama has disturbed some people because of the violence depicted, and they've learned the 1860s-era taxidermy was performed with real human bones.
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh museum decided a dramatic diorama that has been on display for more than a century should remain out of public view while it considers ethical issues about its accuracy and appropriateness.
The Carnegie Museum of Natural History has covered up the popular “Lion Attacking a Dromedary” diorama, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Thursday.
“For some people of color, their traumatic experience with racialized violence leads them to see ("Lion Attacking a Dromedary”) primarily through that lens," a spokesperson told KDKA.

Using real human bones in the diorama was pretty twisted, I have to say. I guess that's why it's no longer done.

The best thing to do in cases like this is to tell the person or persons complaining to F#CK OFF!
Just label the lion Antifa or BLM, and the portrayal of violence will be totally acceptable.

Correct and those complaining were angry that taxpayer funds went to the artist and museums’ exhibiting it via the NEA (same with the taxpayer funding the dug “painting”).
Yet try to use taxpayer funded SPACES (not even funding to the artist) to exhibit reverential works to Jesus, Mary, or God or even the 10 Commandments and the censors at the ACLU will come in to protest and challenge it in the courts and nutjob extremists will destroy it with hammers and cars...

Hmmn. But you see, the female (the lioness, was already killed. Was being (literally ) downtrodden and stepped on and kicked. “She” had failed, and it takes the males (rider, dromedary, and lion) to continue the fight. Well, “that” message cannot be tolerated!

The rider has a knife in his right hand and apparently has used it against the lioness lying wounded on the ground.
To me the use of human bones is a legit reason to remove the display. To remove it because it’s not woke enough is ridiculous.
