How does an impeachment by the House stop any Supreme Court nomination?
Answer : It doesn't.
However, it may send Trump's poll numbers skyrocketing, just like the last time.
Meanwhile, Mitch will simply pull a Pelosi and ignore any impeachment documents submitted by the house until the next congress, which automatically voids any impeachment papers the previous house.

Perhaps they’d use the argument that they trotted out last time that a President who is impeached should not be allowed to appoint Judges/Justices until/unless he is acquitted, hoping to peel off a squishy Republican Senator or twothey don’t need that many.

I agree with you but I wouldn't underestimate the weasel democRATS to try this ploy without following the constitution and threatening senators, witnesses, nominees and their families, etc. They're out for blood.
Even to the point of burning down their homes and threatening their lives.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THESE VIOLENT THUGS. They'll do anything they want unless someone has got the balls to stop them.

Wasn’t there something about a President under impeachment not being able to nominate? Sounds stupid but vaguely familiar.
