FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) Millions of Americans tuned in Tuesday night to watch the first debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden.
But one comment in particular from President Trump, where he called for his supporters to observe voters during the upcoming November election, caught the attention of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.
During the debate, both candidates were asked if they would encourage their supporters to remain calm during a potential waiting period for election results, caused by an influx of mail-in ballots.

This man is getting on my last nerve.
Poll watchers are supplied by both parties. He can call for Dem poll watchers for his state. The GOP just called for GOP poll watchers.
Ive done it, theres very little problem (once I complained about the same individual voting numerous mentally handicapped people, which has since been outlawed), and once about Dem electioneering going on within the polling place.
Incidentally, the Dem poll watchers were almost all attorneys, and spent a lot of time trying to intimidate. In fact, the county Dem party had sent a legal letter to everyone on the GOP poll watchers list threatening us with prosecution (for what, I wasnt clear). So poll watchers, while you dont feel like it if youre doing it, are clearly an impediment to Dem cheating.
Go and volunteer today!
So Matt Bevin was really THAT bad, Kentucky?
Why would liberals object to that?
(rhetorical)
Nothing new here. Democrats don’t want anyone watching them cheat.
Alas, Beshear isn’t up for re-election until 2023. I hope by then, Kentucky voters will still remember how he mishandled the COVID-19 crisis, especially when he threatened those going to church.
Heres a link to find out how to volunteer in your state. Click on the Volunteer button in the upper right of the page to navigate to the information for your locality.
Observers who hang at the polls all day are called poll watchers and are legally appointed and trained for the job. If you want to help, call your county GOP or Democrat organization
Scroll down and fill out the contact info. It will then take you to a new screen where you provide your info once more, and assert that you support President Trump for re-election.
You will then be contacted by the campaign team in your state about being a poll watcher.
Later.
WTF is he talking about? I vote in NJ the blue of all blue states and ten people are watching every move and every vote.
Hey Andy,
This is what Trump was talking about:

No. Bevin was great. He was fixing the teachers retirement fund that Bashears father stole the money out of. To do that he did across the board budget cuts, as he should have. Those cuts became the Bevin cuts the teachers union is sonstupid they couldnt understand he had to cut. Bevin put one billion dollars in the retirement accounts. Plus set yearly contribution rates so these dumb teachers would have retirement money. Yet somehow, the teachers screamed at Bevin for the cuts. Its like attacking the firefighters while the arsonists get elected. It was so frustrating.
Look at the election, our republicans swept the down ballot, and Beshear won by not alot.
Kentuckys Senate and House have huge majorities, we run out almost all democrats. Only Louisville can you find democrats. Our Louisville is Little Detroit.
Bevin is a good guy that got screwed.
But trust me, we wont make that mistake again. Trump won Ky by 30 in 2016. Hell win by more this year. We dont entertain ballot harvesting in Ky.
Ky also reports results quickly, we have a brand new Secy of State who will certify the win early. My hope is, and my expectation is all of the South will follow suit. Beginning the Trump landslide
Actually, Bevin was quite good. He wasn't reelected because he ticked of the teachers by trying to fix our very, very badly broken pension system.
How broken? I saw an article the other day that California is in debt many billions of dollars, which puts it in 5th place as far as the most debt. The only states deeper in depth are: Illinois, Massachusetts, Louisiana?, and Kentucky. So, Kentucky is deeper in debt than California but has only a fraction of the economic output, so the outlook is much more dire. Bevin tried to get started with a fix, but the teachers would have no part of it.
Look at the voting: Trump won Kentucky by about 62-38. I saw an article about the Kentucky voting where Bevin lost. That year there were 30,000? fewer votes cast than in the previous gubernatorial race. Bevin lost by 4,000 votes. So, it looks like thousands wouldn't actually vote for Bashear instead of Bevin, they just didn't vote at all which allowed Bashear to win.
Trust me I know about the cuts. I work in higher education in Kentucky and WE paid for a chunk of the public school teachers pensions Daddy stole with massive layoffs and huge budget cuts. All departments except for administration were slashed. Many vocational programs were outright eliminated despite being full each semester with 90%+ placement rates. In my one college and department we went from nine employees to five and we are stretched thin, on top of that 15% cuts to operating budgets. Thankfully during the fat years I always bought extra supplies for operations so we are weathering the cuts in that area for now.
I knew the cuts were coming and had to be done, but after listening to the public school teachers piss and moan about Bevin trying to save their pension I absolutely loath their stupid asses. On top of that they fawn and carry on about Dear Andy SAVING THEM FROM COVID, he’s their new god—puke!
MY wife is friends with several public school teachers she grew up with and it’s taken all her willpower not to chew them out for their pissing and moaning about their pensions when their snot nosed little king’s daddy stole their money and they stupidly voted for Jr. and Bevin, the man they were angry at was fixing their pensions with large cuts, while her husbands co-workers were getting summarily fired in swaths to fund their pensions. We both loath public school teachers!
He lost for a number of reasons - saying really stupid things like teachers rallying in Frankfort were causing child molestation really damaged him. His final nail in the coffin was a week before the election coming out for tolls in Northern Kentucky, causing him to lose a lot of support in that Republican stronghold - more than enough to make up the margin of loss.
