Based on survival rates at 5 years for stage III-IV CRC, the results showed a significant 11.9% increase in deaths when comparing a 0-3 month delay to a >12 month delay.

New research presented today at UEG Week Virtual 2020 has shown that delays in colorectal cancer (CRC) screening caused by COVID-19 has resulted in significantly increased death rates for the cancer.

Researchers at the University of Bologna produced a model to forecast the impact of time delays in CRC screening on CRC mortality caused by COVID-19. The results found that moderate (7-12 months) and large (>12 months) delays in screening caused a 3% and 7% increase in advanced stage CRC respectively.

Based on survival rates at 5 years for stage III-IV CRC, the results showed a significant 11.9% increase in deaths when comparing a 0-3 month delay to a >12 month delay.

Can this CRC screening start with blood work ?

Would results from a normal physical indicate something ?

Is it pain that is the first symptoms ?

I just had the test where one sends in a stool sample to a lab.

Doctor said it came back with no blood.

Is that an all clear for CRC ?

That test is so much better than a colonoscopy — two times both negative. Good news and painless!

Are you sure about that? I have to get 5 year CRC screenings because I ALWAYS have adenatamous (sp) polyps ..... Would like NOT to go thru that.

My dear friend most likely will not survive her cancer. She was told they detected it too late because colonoscopies couldn’t be done -due to scamdemic. She is going through hell now.

Why wait until you have blood in your stool? Why not have a colonoscopy and detect the polyps before they turn to cancer?

Thank you for prayers. Her relationship with God is very strong and her attitude is amazing. If it were me, I would opt out of treatment (chemo), but she’s 20 years younger than I am, so I understand her choice.

As predicted months ago.
The lockdown death toll is going to exceed the Covid-19 death toll by quite a bit.

Just lost two family members within the last three weeks.... one due to stomach cancer and one due to an infection after a gall bladder operation. I’m convinced that both were due to medical delays that directly related to WuFlu….

Three weeks ago a friend found out he has colon cancer. He went back to the doctor the following day, and was told stage 4.

The commercials for the “mail in your poop” end with “if you’ve had issues” before go see the Doc.

If I don’t have DVR fast forward available I sometimes listen to the long list of “cautions” for new meds which often include death among many other “adverse” reactions. Who would take that chance?

The poop tests I think just say no guarantees but if you’ve had related issues - see your Doc.

I’m not a Doc - check with your Doc. ;-)

At least they didn’t die of CV-19.

After two years with the health statistics logged in nationally I expect to see a large drop in “normal” mortalities to show the over-diagnosed cause of death being CV-19.

Trump’s fault.

A close family relative died from complications of colon cancer surgery. Saw a GI specialist for rectal bleeding and was told it was internal hemorrhoids. Regular colonoscopy six months or so later revealed stage 3 colorectal cancer. I did not let the coronavirus stop me from having my 5-year colonoscopy, although I had to wait two months past the 5-year mark. Fortunately, no issues. I also had my annual physical about two months ago. I am, however, deferring routine dental appointments.

I keep saying it.

The lockdowns and panics are what is killing people. Not covid.
