How to Save the NFL in Three Easy Steps
American Thinker ^ | Bonnie Ramthun

Posted on 10/17/2020 3:41:24 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Viewership started to trend lower as thugs started to become visible in the NFL. Then came Colin Kaepernick, kneeling to show his disrespect for our country, and the NFL didn’t fine him or tell him to stop or he’d lose his job. Instead, they allowed players to kneel and disrespect our anthem and our flag, all across the NFL.

*snip*

However, they can save themselves. Here is how, in three easy steps.

The NFL will return to a celebration of America and our military and police forces. They’ll put on pre-game and halftime shows that rival the musical sequences in Captain America. Troops will be honored. The colors will be marched into the stadium with a full military honor guard. The National Anthem will be sung with dignity and pride, and every player on the field will stand with their right hand over their heart. If they don’t, they will be at the curb with their duffle bag within minutes. Do you want to save yourselves, owners? Then kick any ungrateful athlete right out of your beloved sport.

The NFL will require each paid athlete to take courses in ethics, history, and finance. Perhaps they were raised in a well-educated home with plenty of books and excellent teachers at school. Most likely they were not. The courses are going to be non-negotiable and if the athlete is illiterate, tutors will be hired by the NFL to teach him to read. Many of these young, brilliant athletes have been shamefully shuffled through the school system without ever learning the tools they need to be good public citizens. In return for their dedication to their sport, the NFL is going to teach them. If they refuse to take these classes, then to the curb with their duffle bag they will go.

Simple steps maybe...but not easy when courage is such a rarity.

The President could save the NFL. Just invite Goodell and the owners to the WH and explain this article to them.

I have no idea why people are shocked or dismayed that a monopoly like the NFL displays an abusive contempt for its paying customers.

It's what monopolies do.

How to save it? Couldn't care less! For the first time in decades I've gone 5 weeks during the season without watching a single second of an NFL game. And the amazing thing is that although I expected to miss it...I HAVEN'T!

I won't be back...under any circumstances.

I hope that Mercedes Benz,Princess Cruise Lines,Rolex and the makers of those various medications which cost $600 a month understand that I,a guy lucky enough to be able to afford all those products, won't be seeing their ads.

Nah.

I was already getting sick of watching the replays of the dancing, preening, and other unsportsmanlike conduct.

Then they added all the rules that are turning the game more into touch football so as not to damage the big money.

Then all the momentum-stopping penalties and reviews.

Then all the untold hours of commercials and announcer-schtick..

The protesting was just the final nail in the coffin.

The NFL Commissioner appears to be an appeaser of the first order. The owners just renewed his contract ($50 mil per yr) so he must be doing exactly what they want. It’s the old “peace at any price” tactic that always fails. It’s going to cost them a lot of money.

These “easy steps” are bullshit. They will never be implemented. We are talking about overpaid celebrities here. They are just like Hollywood celebrities where they would not be as wealthy as they are without America being America. But for reasons known only to the leftist mentality, they have to bite the hand that feeds them and get off on it too. They need to be driven out of existence.

Who feels the NFL is worth saving? I don’t. It can dry up and blow away. Bunch of way over paid players on a power trip. No thank you.

And the endless shuffling in and out of players in games and players going from team to team...no stamina needed or exploited. Roulette styled and a touch football game as you said. Last team with ball wins. Totally unimportant and boring to boot.

They told Americans what they really thought of them. It is like telling your spouse, in a moment of anger, that you didn’t like them very much.

You can’t really come back from that.

NFL player conduct will change when they see a change in their pay checks. I don’t know if their contracts are in any way tied to league or team revenue. But, if not, going forward they should be. At any rate when owners start loosing money it will be reflected in their contracts. The NBA experienced huge revenue losses this year. Let’s see what it does.

No matter how rich the A holes get they still fall back to the black slavery racism narrative. Ungrateful pukes. Let them whither and die on the vine

Let it die. A new football organization will replace it. It is a capitalist venture and money to be made, but by smart people this time.

Incomplete analysis.

The owners, most of them, hate the same things the "protesting" players hate.

Fuggum... the NFL has been in a death spiral for 20+ years, perhaps it has finally augered in.
