I think this is spot on. Indians are VERY prejudiced. They also look down on White people, but most would never realize it because they make it with politeness.

“Did Kamala Harris grow up exposed to ranking, by her Indian mother (a Berkeley grad)?”

IIRC her mothers family was upper caste with all the perqs and privileges that go with it. She certainly would have been exposed to it.

The only problem here is allowing so many foreigners to come the US for STEM degrees at US Colleges and Universities. They block more qualified Americans from getting into those programs. The extension to this problem is allowing them stay and take American jobs.

As for women, blacks, Latinos getting these jobs ... well they can develop interest in STEM, get educated and get jobs just like anyone else. May the most qualified win. No quotas, no affirmative action, no whining, no government programs, no tax dollars. America First by fixing immigration.

An old biz book “Dress for Success” was at its core, in today’s terms, a book about how upper middle class WASPs discriminated against the lower middle class in the upper ranks of corporate America. To overcome that discrimination it purported to teach how to look, speak, walk, and other wise act like your were upper middle class. The premise being that once these elites identified you as one of their own you would much more readily advance.

The premise was correct I believe but you can’t get out of Appalachia but not never gets out of you even 3 generations later! So I started my own company refuse to hire the egghead upper class.

True dat. Look who runs Microsoft now.

I have. With some notable successes, and some long dry spells.

So, may we assume that you were replaced by someone that had more brains and fewer years?

Whites are lazy.

Not necessarily a bad thing for an engineer.

"Lazy" engineers fix underlying problems so they don't have to continually treat symptoms.

"Lazy" engineers find simpler, less labor intensive ways of doing things.

"Lazy" engineers train and empower staff to fix and prevent problems at the source, and to recognize when they are out of their depth and to ask for help, which over time becomes less and less frequent...

My wife’s cousin had to train his Indian replacement

I've had to do that several times.

When I was a hiring manager I used to try to hire lazy (smart) people. They always come up with the simplest solutions to problems. My boss used to hate it when I told him this, but nm my experience it usually pays off.

Dirty little secret in the IT world: Indians are the biggest block of high salary illegal aliens.

They come here on a several month H1B visa, overstay, and wait to get that next H1B gig when they were supposed to self deport.

I was wondering just how long it would take for a response.

Not long at all.

5:50:55 AM to 5:52:24 AM to be exact.

END H-1B now!. Frack Sen. Mike Lee!!!!

No. Some H-1Bs are crucial.

Better change the rules just a wee bit.

Current rule H-1Bs are required to be paid 'the prevailing wage'.

Nice in theory, but in practice H-1Bs SET the prevailing wage, an H-1B is paid the average wage, and any highly skilled American earning a more than average wage is priced out of the market.

The new average wage no longer includes highly skilled Americans, and next year's average wage is lower. The bean counters are delighted, but the shop floor is now being run by less skilled staff, and Americans with a smattering of skills are in danger of being replaced by a cheaper and even less skilled generation of H-1Bs...

Better to require that H-1Bs be paid 25% more than the prevailing wage. Companies should be willing to pay a premium for a skill set they legitimately cannot find domestically.

If they aren't, perhaps they don't need this so-called critical skill, and can hire Americans to do the work they actually do need done.

No. Some H-1Bs are crucial.

BS. There are PLENTY of Americans that can do every job in the USA. All of them.

The H-1B visa is run by the swamp it has to be killed. No amount of tweaking will work.

When I lived in CA, my boss and his “partner” were renovating their house, and had hired an Indian chick to do the job. What an attitude. I was told she was “somebody” in the Indian caste system.

One day she came in and demanded to speak to my boss who was in an important meeting. Pitched a fit — in an arrogant way — and demanded over and over again. You could tell she always got her way because of who she was. I finally said, “Let me tell you about America. We don’t HAVE a caste system here. You’re going to have to wait.”

She finally stalked out and complained about me to the boss. He just laughed at her.
